I'M LOST, Befuddled !(Rec. Gov)
In our travels, as seniors, we like to stay at Army Corps of Engineers Camp Grounds. It's easy on the wallet for us. A Senior Pass.
The most I have ever been able to book is 14 days and that is rare. I am missing something when other RVr's book 28 days straight in the same site.
I have not had the courage (actually the guts) to ask, 'how do you do it' ?
I am missing something and do not know what it is.
Any ideas out there ????????? I thought 14 was the max and then out you go !

In many state parks the max is 14 days as well. I wonder if they book the next 2 weeks in a different name, such as a spouse or other relative to get around it.

CRABMAN: I have never been the brightest bulb in the pack, but you may have hit the answer. A couple may be able to book under 2 different accounts. That may be legal, but it seems somewhat unfair.
But if it is legal (not sure legal is the right word) that has to be OK. It is a part of the game of RVing.
Ya' learn sumthin' new every day'.

I have seen folks move to another site in 2 weeks. We have moved to another loop in the same campground and it felt like a new campground.

That's what I would do! Don't think I could even stay 2 weeks at the same site...

Again, not the brightest bulb in the pack!
Norty & Gone Campin and other intelligent peeeeples.
My interpretation of your response is ; I have an America The Beautiful Senior Pass (Federal). If my Bride of 49 years (yes, she is much older than me), well 2 years older. HUSH ! Don't let her know about this post.
If my Bride signed up for the same Old Timers government courtesy, we could in essence (I had to get the dictionary out for that word), book another 14 days in that park, without one of us going to the SLAMMER ! For you youngins', that means jail.
Starting to get out of the fog, Truly yours YIKES !

I would not go that far. I have the old Golden Age card which was the first version of what you mentioned. It saves a senior a ton but don't know if you can stay any longer.
These cards have a one time fee but it can save you a load of entrance and parking fees at most any federal facility.

I say if you have been married 49 years, you deserve to stay as long as you like

Not used the recreation.gov for rv but have for rental cabins. Some of those limit you to three nights, so wife and I have separate accounts to get more days, but doesn't always work out.

I use it a fair amount for cg reservations but it is hard to get good sites unless you stay away on weekends. That's when I like to stay there. They charge a fee to make them and also a $10. fee to cancel but that's the way it is most everywhere.

The America the Beautiful pass is a great deal. It costs $10 and expires when you do.

At 75 expire is not in my game plan. I don't know what I have started in this thread, but tomorrow I will go hunt groundhogs, to clear my head.
Watch out Back Pasture Grizzly, I will be out there with my .204 tomorrow.

It is against the rules in many state parks to double book using different members of the same camping group [husband/wife, father/son]. We found several people we had met over the years who clearly were there when we got there and still there when our 2 weeks was over. In Florida the rules say that is not allowed and the first year we tried it was the year they clamped down and threatened to cancel the reservation for weeks 3 and 4. The rule says you have to vacate the park for 1 day and then can come back for another 2 weeks. We were told by the park manager to book the first 2 weeks skip a day and book another 2 weeks. Then somewhere during the first reservation to check with the office and based on occupancy demand, they would consider waving the skip day so you didn't actually have to leave the park. By making the skip day on a tue or Wednesday it was very unlikely that they would have people stacked up wanting a site. Anyway that was the work around for the extended stay.
That ended the game for about 75% of the 30 odd number of people who had been routinely staying for 6 weeks or longer and as out of state'ers were paying a ton during the Jan/Feb/ early March low season in Florida parks. We figured they lost well in excess of $20k and ended up with numerous empty sites during these months. The group mostly went to the Gulf Shores area in Alabama where you can stay as long as you want.
You may be able to get away with it [depends on the park manager] but you aren't fooling anyone. Its just depends on if they choose to look the other way. The federal reservation system will allow you to book the back to back reservations under different names and accounts, but you risk having your reservations voided when you try to register for the extended weeks.

So, in other words, there are no problems if you "play by the rules".
