Insurance for Camper

I currently use progressive for my camper insurance but it an old camper with about a $4,000 value. I just purchased a camper that cost much more.

Does anyone have any experience with camper insurance thru Good Sam's Club?

Thanks

I use Allied Insurance. Renews this month; full coverage w/ GAP and vacation liability $260 year.

Oh, I also have roadside coverage for both the TT and TV on that policy.

Progressive doesn't do very well when you have a claim. Plus I don't like their surveillance. In addition the module that they want you to install in your vehicle is very intrusive. They get a lot of data on you, your driving habits and the places you drive. Not all of this is related to your insurable risk. They can sell or rent your data to anyone they want for any reason. It can also be used against you in court for even non-traffic related issues.

We use California Casualty on everything but our side x side and ATV. I had a claim for the ATV with Progressive and was very happy with them. Flo took good care of our claim with no problems at all.

Our regular insurance company dosn't insure toys so we use Progressive.

What's this about a Progressive module? I've had them since July and have not gotten anything like this from them. Is it just for Motorhomes?

We started out with Good Sam Fulltimers coverage for the 5er, when we were sent renewal quote for the second year the rate went up about 35% so we started shopping around and wound up with Progressive Fulltimers coverage.

When shopping for Fulltimer's coverage, not all companies will write it, as they exclude fulltime use.

We had Nationwide insurance for many years our vehicles but again it kept going up every year for no reason.
It was getting out of control so we also started shopping the Truck insurance and now we have Geico.

So in the end "Flo" covers the 5er and the "Lizard" covers the Truck

We have Good Sam. So far ok; no claims though.

Good Sam Insurance is underwritten by National General Insurance.

We use USAA for our TT, cars, TV, ATV, rental home and renters policy.

I get telemarketing calls on occasion that say they would ike to try and compete for a better quote and then ask who I use. When I mention USAA they thank me for my time and politely say goodbye. That's gotta mean something huh?

Of course you have to have been in the military and if you were your kids can also become members. I couldn't be happier with a company that has such an outstanding reputation.

Several Insurance companies are offering policies that require a module to plug into the vehicles OBDII port so that the insurance company can capture real life driving statictics, and price appropriately. Its pretty invasive, Serously doubt its discoverable in court, and not 100% certain they can sell your specific information but they can sell the collective data of a class of drives. Eitherway -- its not required for insurance in general, just specific plans they offer.

I agree with msturtz that its intrusive and I wouldn't want it. However I am pretty extreme in that sense, we don't use Grocery/Big Box/Fuel discount cards cards either for the same reason -- I prefer companies know as little about me as possible. Hell they get enough information from cookies they drop on my computer. Ever notice the banner adds on this site directly relate to something you searched earlier

USAA belongs to the GEICO group. Government Employees Insurance COmpany. Geico used to only do business with government workers but now they have gone public.

Hey Clutch, correction- while USAA is a fortune 500 company it is not a corporation and was founded in 1922 buy a military officer. The founder of Geico was a previous employee of USAA. Geico was founded in 1936 and is a corporation and a wholly owned subsidiary of Berskshire Hathaway.

We have our camper insurance through our State Farm auto policy, which had been in effect for 41 years. Complete replacement value coverage. Even coverage for our portable PI EMS box if it is stolen from a campsite. Would absolutely NEVER trust GEICO if it was the only company on the planet. They wanted to fix my brand new (72 hours old) parked car with used junkyard parts when it was damaged by an unlicensed driver back in 1972. They absolutely refused to buy a new fender and hood, even though they claimed "like kind and quality" in their ads. Vowed never to have them again, and haven't forgotten.

So glad to read this info. I'm considering jumping over to USAA for all my insurance needs but when I read they were part of Geico, I wasn't happy. Now I feel better
