Mindbending question of the day (regarding prepping)...

How does an individual believe in the aspect of "Better to have it than not need it..." and still want to live by "less it more" (trying to be a minmalist)??

As I am making a list for have/have not in regards to prepping, its starting to bake the ol' noodle as the list is getting long....

Thoughts? Views? Your methods?

Heck, the last big hurricane we had in VA caused some problems. My house was without power for 12 days. I had to work twelve our shifts and couldn't go home between the shifts. We were out directing traffic and chasing looters all night in the dark. Glad I can see better at night than during the day!!!

Some thoughts on this......the first need would be clean drinkable water. Lack of water will kill you before hunger. If your TT FW tank has water in it, that's a good start. Drain and replenish from time to time if it's just sitting there getting stale. The TT propane tanks are another good resource, along with some tinned food and dried goods. These simple things are not expensive, and part of what campers normally have available. I have to agree with Rustic Eagle's earlier post in this regard.

I would add, maintaining a water supply and comfortable temperatures in a pop-up during the freezing winter months presents another set of challenges. I'm sure some of the snowbirds on this forum would suggest hitching up and heading south to a warmer climate as the thing to do in that case. Otherwise, one could follow the example of an Eskimo hunter near the arctic circle, which would not be my choice.
