Jayco Owners Do It Right All The Time, Correct?

But this guy seems to need more truck. It is an F150 and no WD hitch either. I took this at Wal-Mart 2 miles from here and an hour later he pulls into the park where I'm hosting and sets up in the site next to me.

I hope he didn't have to tow it too far. I'm going to go up to the office and see where he lives and make sure I don't drive that direction when he leaves.

I'll bet the salesman told him it would tow just fine!

Send a message via Skype™ to jamaddox
The truck appears to be sitting level so maybe his truck is okay but he might just need some hitch education

The truck looks reasonably level in this picture, but it wasn't. I'm not sure how he got here due to a railroad crossing just down the road.

That's a big RV. He needs serious help. It is a Jayco product though.

from what I remember the camper should also be riding level so it doesn't nose dive when braking or lift ... that looks like in a hard braking situation the front of the truck could come off the ground lol

I wouldn't have approached him in the parking lot but I think I would have taken the time to educate him at the campground.

I towed an overloaded tandem axle cargo trailer for years and didn't realize the need for a WD hitch until I started researching our new TT.

Most people willingly accept advice even when it is unsolicited.

Well some will accept advice and some think they don't need it. The older I get the more I realize I need the advice

Doesn't look good, you can see that weight has been removed from the TV's front suspension.

No WDH? Thats illegal isn't it? Can you maybe point that out before he gets someone killed? Man people like that are the reason I'm researching neurotically. I don't want to be that guy going down the road :X

This is why the magical tow ratings they give half tons concerns me so much.

The other day I was passed by a guy towing a tandem axle utility trailer that was so 'nose high' that the wheels on the front axle weren't even moving!
I couldn't stop laughing!

They give tow ratings, but also tongue ratings. He may not even be aware of WD hitches. I bet if you looked at his tongue jack it will have scrape marks on it. If he doesn't like your casual suggestion, well, can't fix stupid...but hopefully the police will make the suggestion in a way he can't refuse.

I'm not convinced that offering advice will be accepted.

A few weeks ago I offered on another Jayco forum that another new users new Eco F150 was not a good match for his newly ordered, up and coming fifth wheel. He had Many more supporters than detractors.

Almost 40 years ago another camping family sent their young son over to suggest that my new bride and I (honey-mooners) first set the stabilizer feet on our unhitched camper/ before camping for the night. We listened and there was no/ or only little, rocking.

Wow! When I saw that pic I thought it was a photo shopped joke. The sad thing is that's how innocent people get hurt out on the roads.
