Bob, I`ve got that type duct hose under my house delivering the conditioned air from the air handler to the metal ducts, only it is the 10" size. One time the drain for the AC water got clogged, backed up and water went down the air handler into the duct hose. I had to go under the house and punch a hole in the hose to let the water out, and there was a bunch of it in the hose. After it dried out and I had fixed the clog I put duct tape over the hole and all was well. Last Winter I replaced one of the hoses that was not looking too good after 20 years and was leaking. That was an unenviable job, crawling under the house and replacing that duct hose!

PS. What you don`t like drywall work? There is an art to it you know, which I am yet to master (and do not want to)
