During a recent trip to the Philippines, I came across an entrance to a gold mine in a remote mountain area of the Camarines Norte Province (I gained entry with a local village elder).....,

Taken from my front lawn last month. Near to my house, 12 hot-air ballons lifted off that morning, in preperation for the bean-bag drop. Gonzales, LA. Ballon Fastival.

DW, feeding the deer at Sam Houston Jone State Park. Lake Charles, LA.
The deer were raised in an enclosure until Hurricane Rita(2008). Trees fell and damaged the enclosure; and the deer walked out. The park desided to let them roam free.

That is a neat photo of your DW feeding the deer and how close they are. Seen a special on PBS the other day showing a dog and a wild deer playing in a field.

Many folks don't realize that the Keweenaw Peninsula in the northwest corner of the Michigan UP is actually an island. The Houghton/Han**** lift bridge connects the Keweenaw Peninsula with mainland Michigan.
Nice drive in the Keweenaw Peninsula heading north to Fort Wilkins....,
