Whoa .... Alittle to close for my comfort !!

When lightening strikes that close, I just count my blessings, change my underwear, and move on as if nothing happened .......

Although the strike looks pretty close, I'm guessing it was a little more than a mile away (still to close for comfort).

One time while camping with our kids near Destin Fl, a pretty strong thunderstorm hit. We were hungry so decided to duck into a buffet to eat. A bolt of lightening hit the tall sign that advertised the restaurant. Man, that made a loud noise! Charred it, and knocked out the backlighting. We were sitting next to the window. What a show (not!). Scary then, but fun to re-tell now

We vacation at Perdido Key and those storms can pop up pretty darn quick around that area.

Actually the strikes were a little further away when I took the shots but this one just came out of no where

Awesome Pic!

(I would have been hiding with the covers over my head). I'm from a family who is scared of weather. So, what did I do?, I moved to the midwest WHERE THERE ARE TORNADOS to be with ByDesign. He's alot braver then me. Of course, if his son is here or with us in the Jayco, I have to "pretend" to be brave.

LOL Yup, you're brave!

Going through 'basic training' in summer in Alabama, and having kids is what taught me bravery! We will have a rare thunderstorm once every few years where we live. One night when the kids were in elementary school the thunder/lightening pounded. Kids were awake already so I got really excited and screamed "HOT CHOCOLATE!" Let's go sit in the living room and watch the lightening show!"... They have a respect for those storms but aren't afraid!

Yep we all know that lightening will blow apart a trailer but the covers over your head will protect you.... LOL
