Memorial Day Weekend - Any brave souls hitting the highways?

So who's goin' campin' this weekend?

We are getting an early start and heading out Thursday. Our oldest two granddaughters received permission to miss school on Friday (but still have to do "independent study" for work missed!). We are just camping about an hour's drive away. Can't wait!!!!

We are headed to Casper, Wyoming on Thursday for the ham radio convention. We are meeting another couple from our Good Sam chapter ( Hammin' Sams)- the guys will go to the convention and us girls plan to work on projects for our state Samboree in September.

We just finished our first chapter campout of the year and had a great time. We semi dry camped (electric only) and everything worked well, including the new satellite dish. Loved being able to get Fox News when we weren't busy with other activities! Got home on Sunday, just in time to do laundry, grocery shop and head out again. Happy camping to all!

I won't be camping this weekend, but I am driving from Atlanta to Oklahoma City to pick up my mother in law and drive her back to Birmingham, AL. I know I'm nuts, but what is one to do?

Waiting until the weekend--and crowded campgrounds--are over, then later in the week we are off to Pedernales State Park about 40 miles west of Austin. Taking our grandsons, ages 3 and 6, for their first trip of the summer. May take a day trip to Fredricksburg, a small town settled by German immigrants in the mid-1800s, because the boys recently traveled to Germany with their parents. Thought the 6 year old might find the connection between Germany and Fredricksburg interesting.

Yep but it's only because I have to be at the Jayco factory iin Middlebury, IN Tuesday morning, June 1st, at 6:30 a.m. for some repairs. I'd have 'em done locally but Jayco's price was 1/5th of what my local repair facility wanted and, IMHO, they'll do a better job (hope so anyway).

Bad time of the year to come down sick, especially with the flu. I hope and pray DW will be well soon.

We just finished a one hour horse ride. It was my 8 and 9 year old granddaughter's first horse ride. Papa was too heavy, so he didn't go Anyhow, we had a great time. The highlight was when we got to take our horses across the river that was 3' deep in the middle! *Woo-Hoo*

Hickory Run state park Pa

We just returned from Hickory Run state park . Heading out the traffic was not as bad as we thought it would be , took about 3 hours , normal ride is about 2 . The trip and Jayco were trouble free and the weather was great . The return home was great , just sad it had to end , back to the real world on Tuesday , Kipper

Hope all our friends here on Jayco Forum had a great time camping over Memorial Day holiday. Unfortunately, I had to work the entire weekend. Kinda degrading for an old retire to have to work on holidays, but at least, I let the younger folks enjoy time with their families.
And also, thanks for the accolades for us veterans from our forum friends.
