No campfire here

Well we came for the long weekend and Friday night was nice. last nighg started raining and hasn't Stop. Luckily my Inlaws booked a motel room where our 1 yr old can move around and not be grumpy and grogy inside our trailer. If
It wasn't windy we'd go outside but yeah stuck inside. All that aside its still nicer that being stuck at home. Hope everyone else is having a good weeked

A bad day of camping is better than a good day at work.

It's going to snow tonight and tomorrow. We have a rule to never camp on the May long weekend.

We spent the day hunkered down in our trailer at Winnipeg Beach, watching the other campers one by one hook up their units and leave. The campground was almost full on Friday night when we got here, now it's almost deserted. The only reasons why we're still here is that we're not uncomfortable in our trailer, and the thought of towing the trailer back home in the 90 kph winds gives me the willies.

Sounds like our July long last year up there!

Spent the weekend dewinterizing instead. Today was (and still is) brutal though.

If it was perfect weather every time we went camping, we would take it for granted.....just think how much better you'll appreciate the next perfect weekend. I don't so much mind the weather (unless I'm setting up or taking down in it), a good book, sketch pad, some wine, some music and I'm good in the Pup........my wife ..... that's another story. We bailed this weekend, due to weather, and it's looking now that next weekend (Memorial Day weekend) isn't looking much better.........hope the Mississippi Valley clears up soon or I may forget how to set this thing up......

Here's a local news video of what it was like, in a small town on the lakeshore a little distance away from the campground we were staying at. Literally 24 hours before it was a nice summer day. We walked down the pier shown in the video and watched a young kid catch a nice walleye.

RAW: Lake Winnipeg waves crash into Gimli shoreline - CBC News: Winnipeg at 6:00 - CBC Player

This was the maiden trip for our new trailer, and except for some condensation on one of the windows -- which was facing right into the wind and snow, and we did have it pretty warm inside -- the trailer performed perfectly. Except for the wind shaking the trailer in the middle of the night, we were actually pretty comfortable.

Sorry to hear of the bad weather.

We had a perfect weather weekend at Goose Creek Resort in Newport NC. We visited the NC Aquarium, a Maritime museum, had a great lunch at FLipperZ in Atlantic beach, and enjoyed some tasty beverages on the intracoastal at sunset. Site #W2. Second from the north on the waterfront sites. We love camping more every trip.
