Now That's HOT!

We made it to Las Vegas and we should pretty much be acclimated to the heat by the time we hit Phoenix! Today it hit 113 where we are, but caught this pic from our navigation showing 111 degrees! Thank goodness for a/c!

If yoiu think that is hot, how about the day it hit 122 at the airport! They had to ground all flights because their charts didn't go that high. I worked about a mile from the airport back then and I was working outside in the sun on a paved lot on that day. Fun!

Forgive me for gloating but my stay here in SoCal just got extended two more days (I'll be heading home Thursday morning unless something else comes up). Today was the warmest since I got here last Friday, a whopping 81 degrees. Going home is going to be tough!

We were in Vegas during the 4th of July it was so hot you had to walk in the shadows of the buldings. The fireworks shows that are put on are the best in the entire USA. While you are there don't drive anywhere take the bus. It's so cheep and you can go everywhere.

That's too darn hot for me. When we were in the Badlands the temp reached 106. DW packed a lunch and the sandwich bread dried out real fast so we had to eat quick.

We are in June Lake Cailf (7700' elevation). It is 50* outside and possible snow tonight above 10,000'.

According to this mornings weather it's supposed to be 96 with a dew point in the mid 70's making a heat index of 105 to 110 degrees today. That's pretty uncomfortable. It will cool down to 88 tomorrow.

I was in Phoenix one year when it hit 116. It was pretty tough to even get in the car and get it cooled down, and you could not touch anything. We are headed out tonight and it is supposed to be in the high 90s until Monday, then we cool off to 93....Good news it should cool down to the mid 70s in the evening....

Keep cool and stay hydrated! We are bringing a big water cooler with us so everyone has plenty of cool water.

Was 95 in central Alabama today. Question does our 95 feel hotter than the desert 116?

Well, 95 in Alabama means some THICK air due to the humidity.
