There's lots of advice and information in forums... sometimes it is correct. For example, all of my posts are made by a political appointee who got the job as a reward for contributions to my diesel bill.
While everyone is boiling in most of North America this year, we have had very lousy weather in Western Canada, especially in British Columbia. I spent 2 weeks from the 3rd of July to the 17 July on the Shuswap Lake at the government campground and except for about 3 full days of sunshine the remainder was wet and cold. We even had to use the heater on more than one occasion. On the last night that we ere there a storm came across the lake at about supper time and as we are in very dense forest I never noticed the results until I went out on the road at my site and the first thing I noticed was a huge tree was blown down across the road. The wind then stopped and I took a bike ride through this huge campground and found that huge trees and I mean huge had been blown down across the bike paths and a tug boat(not sure where that came from) was beached in the swimming area. I then found that a tree had crushed the top of a brand new (first time used) travel trailer. The people had vacated the unit about 30 seconds before the tree came down.
I have never seen snow next to the highway going over the Rogers Pass, but we did this year and there was no beach when I got to the Shuswap as the water level was so high, mosquitoes were bad and I go swimmers itch.
We just got tired of triple digit temps and 88% humidity so we went to Colorado for 6 days. Most places had temps in the low 70's with no humidity and it was in the 50's up at Tincup. The best part of this vacation, gas was cheaper than Nebraska. It was 90 here in southeast Nebraska when we got home.
We just returned from a 2 week trip to Maine. In southern Maine the temp was 96! The ocean water was 65. In Bar Harbor/ Acadia National Park the temps were between 90 and 78 with temps in the sixties at night. Ocean water was 50 but we did do some ocean swimming but mainly stayed in the pools. This weekend on Cape Cod the weather will be in the seventies with rain on Sunday. Finally some relief.
The A/C in the RV has been getting a real work out. Folks, don't forget to check and clean the filter!
