Raised the speed limit...

... to 120 KM/H on the highway (75 MPH) and on the first full day of the change I saw 2 trailers on the side of the highway dealing with blow outs! If only that had read on the Jayco™ Owners forum about speed ratings on trailer tires this wouldn't have happened...

I'm sure I will be seeing a lot more of them on the side of the road in the future.

You raise a very good point.

Just because the speed limit is 75 doesn't mean you can go that fast when towing. The tires on my TT are only rated for 65 mph, that's why I won't exceed 60 mph when towing.

Many things to think about including excess speed.

I've seen states with a raised speed limit (70 - 75 mph) but with a lower speed limit such as 60 mph for trailers.

Think we need to get highways to put out some signs.

Probably not common knowledge up here. My guess anyway.

Why anyone would put their family and vacation at risk travelling at high speed is beyond me...

Hey driving over the road (truck driver) for awhile, 60-65 is good for me........most company trucks have governors that topped you out at 63 anyways, so getting passed ain't no big thing to me.

I just got a new international at work and I'm governed to 105 now (65 mph) my old truck just didn't have the guts to go much faster! Pretty standard commercially from what I hear though.

There is no way that I am going to do the new speed limit,
I will am just fine at doing 80-90 miles on the freeway.

I am thing of putting a sticker on the back saying that,
I may be slow, I will be right behind you at the stop light

Been traveling with the TT for the past few days, averaging about 60, and had several TT and 5er blow by like I was sitting still. Sure enough, later saw them on the side of the road with shredded tires. In both cases roadside assistance had already made it to them.

I have found 60 to be a good towing speed for a lot of reasons but mostly for economy. Above 60, my mileage goes into the crapper. Higher speeds don't get me anywhere faster because I have to stop and get gas more often.

Agree, I've found my sweet spot at 62-63, as long as my bride and daughter are content/quiet that's where I stay!

I'm quite happy at 100 kph (62 mph) when towing. However when not towing I'm glad they raised the speed limit on the Coq to 120 (75 mph). Unless it's snowing it's a great hwy.

I don't have an issue with the new limits, I just wish people would MOVE OVER! I don't understand why the center lane on the 3 lane sections is the place a lot of people have to drive. I'm really going to try and keep my speed under 100 when we are heading to Yellowstone next month to conserve fuel.
