VMRC votes to close all peeler crabbing Sept 16 and not reopen until May 1. That eliminates the late season runs and mid- late April run in the lower creeks. Bushel limits also reduced in various stages depending on license size. Arrrggh.

They claim there was a 30% die off last Winter, so we have to pay for it. But I`m seeing lots of small crabs in my pots....

I'll be on the Piankatank over the holiday at friends...we can usually get a dozen keepers every 2-3 days with 4-5 pier pots....we'll see.
