Russian meteor

I`m glad this thing did not land in Crabland! Sandy was enough to deal with around here.

I sent video news link to my sci-techy granddaughters (one of which was watching the progress of the 'near miss' asteroid LOL). Wow, crazy scary!

And to think this one caught everyone off guard as they were watching 2012 DA14 and didn't even see this one coming. It's no wonder considering we're only aware of 1% of these massive rocks as they hurtle through space all around us. I've seen dozens, if not hundreds of meteors in my life, but the two largest I've ever seen, were spotted in the past 2 months. One in mid December, which was amazing and the other just yesterday, during the day, which is a first for me. Let's hope the Earth's natural defence system continues to function as it was meant to and none of these larger asteroids or meteors make it through to impact our planet. I'm guessing there'll be alot more star gazers for the next while.

Sure strange this was on the heels of the 2012 DA14. They said it had nothing to do with 2012 DA14 but makes one wonder... They said the sonic boom blew our windows for miles and miles.

I had my ears tuned into the 2012 DA14 meteor and then started seeing things about the Russian meteor. I thought they was just comparing the 2012 DA14 to previous meteor visits to us and finally realized the Russian event was just happening as well... Sure was strange indeed...

I have been to the Meteor Crater in Arizona and the rock signs that came out of that meteor crash site coupled with the black ash from the Sunset Crater Volcano is still visible today for many many miles around the crater sites. I thought it was very ingenious that local counties all used the black ash from Sunset Crator for the sides of the roadways around there...
