I am leaving tonight for a trip to Disney(Ft. Wilderness) from NY. And we are getting a major snow storm. I cannot wait to get below! I never towed in the snow before. Tropical storms, tornados, beginning of a hurricane, yes. But snow, never. It is supposed to stop when I get past the middle of NJ.

Towing in the snow can be a little scary, but I've done it a few times. Just take your time and maintain PLENTY of distance between you and any vehicle in front of you.

watch your brake usage in the snow. I like to use the manual slide on the brake controller and use the trailer brakes independently of the truck brakes. And as was said above leave plenty of space between you and traffic ahead. I like to run about 5-10 mph slower and let everyone pass on by that way I rarely end up in a traffic bottleneck when everyone else decides to step on brakes for no reason.

Yeah, Lee, it's snowing here in Luray, too. Thought that last 20 inches we got a couple of weeks ago would the winter's last gasp, but apparently not. Was hoping to do a few small chores outside, but they will have to wait. Good advice on towing in the snow in above posts.

amabee , I agree we have been out one time with our new unit. Spring is around the corner the Groundhog says. Don't know where but not here in Iowa. We had snow here today. This week is not going to be good either. See what next week brings. Come on Spring.

Last year, the March temperatures here in Southern Ontario were above normal for sure, but this year March has been below normal by quite a bit. I'm hoping April shows a strong up-swing in temperatures to make up for this!

First day of Spring tomorrow and the high here in southern Indiana is 32. For all of us east of the Rockies, we can thank our cold weather situation to a weather anomaly called the Greenland Block. It's an area of high pressure centered over Greenland which causes a dip in the jet stream over the eastern part of North America and allows arctic air to spill in. Until this relaxes, we will continue to experience colder than normal temperatures. My 10 day forecast doesn't show anything over 50, and like the rest of you, I've had it with this crap.

Spring starts today. But you would not know it in Minnesota -8 wind chill the high today will be 20. The highs will not get to the 40s until the first week in April. I want hope for spring but it hard.

I'm tired of waiting too. Next year things are going to be different. There will be some cold weather camping and some trips to area's with better weather. I'm pretty close to being set up for most situations and plan to be OnTheGo.

Good advice from someone (greenenvy1) who has been there - many times ...

Although we've been experiencing Spring-like weather since the first week in Feb., it will officially be SPRING at 6:02 am(CST) today.

Our first "definite" trip will be here in a little less than 2 weeks. If the extended forecast is to be believed, it looks like it's going to be nice at least one day!

I am starting to think Spring will be here around the 4th of July. I probably have about a 1’ of snow in the yard and the snow piles in places are 5’ tall. Only place I have seen the soil is on the south facing hill, and it keeps getting covered up. The snow this year seems to be almost solid ice. We have had a lot more rain this winter than normal.

With how it looks and what I am hearing for our extended forecast I am not sure I will have the HTT out of storage until early May, I was hoping to pull it out Easter weekend, but that will not happen. We have not had a 40 degree day since last fall, and I am hearing the S word in the forecast for next week again. Maybe spring is coming, but I think it might be lost.
