Show off your State Sticker Map

With the purchase of our new Jayco 5er at the beginning of the Summer means we start all over with a new Map of where we have been. We hit the road pretty hard this summer and marked off a lot of states in the 1st year. So lets see your map of where you have been in your Jayco !!!

Actually we could "convoy" to Hawaii.. but we could not get home from Hawaii.. Seriously all those empty container ships going back to China.. They could stop and and drop us off in Hawaii but we could never get the RV home from there..

In my 58 years, I've traveled to all but 9 of the continental 48 states, Guam, England, Diego Garcia and Saudi Arabia.

We don't have a 'where have we camped' map on our Eagle TT. But if we did, it'd look something like this:

As far as we're concerned, once you've been to da U.P., no place else matters.

I have a question about this states stickers. We have been camping for years from Alaska to Florida. We are on our 4th camper and now deciding to get one of those stickers. Do you put everywhere you have been camping or in the current camper or does it matter. I hope I don’t have to start over.

We've been to 41 of the 50 states, not necessarily with this RV or the previous, but with each other. Returned this afternoon after checking off Michigan including the UP. Have to agree with Tail Gunner about the UP. The foliage and the waterfalls were great. We've seen the New England foliage innumerable times in the last 60+ years. The UP foliage is different from New England, but just as spectacular.

Mine's in my signature.

As far as the "rules" go, I believe that's up to each individual. For OUR purposes, we want to show our son all 50 states before he turns 18. There's no way we will take the RV to all of those states, so my map will include states I have not RV'd in (my current map does NOT include states I have not camped in ... yet). And my map includes states we traveled to with the trailer before we got the MH.

Our other rule is that we have to spend the night in the state for it to count, and just a parking lot overnight does not count. I plan to bend that a little when we pick up the East Coast. For those smaller states, I think we'll edit that to "have a significant or meaningful experience".

This year so far, we've picked up 3 states; Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota. We spent an entire day and 2 nights in North Platte, NE on our way up to Mount Rushmore, and the same in Hutchinson, KS on our way home.

We are still deciding whether we'll head East or West next year. Either way, it's fun logistical exercise to plan our trips so that we can "pick up" the states we drive through while trying to maintain one major "keystone" destination.

Thanks to all about what the "rules" are (or lack thereof!). I felt weird having one of these on a forum like this or on our Jayco, as our Jayco has only been to 1 state with us (the one we live in). But we have been to many states together, and our map of places visited would look like this (we picked up Alaska this year actually; right after we bought the Jayco. We didn't have our maiden voyage in the Jayco until after we got back from our trip, and it sat in the driveway for a few weeks as a result).

We are planning some trips with the Jayco to Kentucky/Tennessee, so hoping to pick up more states soon!

How is the challenge going? We completed all 50 with our daughter last year in Alaska, she turned 17. The weird part is that this was the first summer with no destination planned. It is worth all the sacrifices to do it, and we all got a matching tattoo to commemorate.

We have visited most states over the years by car and airplane- But- we use this states visited map to show the states we've stayed at least one night in our 5th wheel. We really didn't have a plan when we started 3 years ago, so decided to do all 48 states. We're in NC right now headed up the East Coast, and plan to do all of the remaining East Coast in the next 1.5 months. Then next Summer we should do the West and NW to complete the 48. After that, we'll start doing longer stays at select destinations. The longest we've stayed anywhere so far is 2 weeks. But the rule we're using is 1 night in the rv=sticker.
