My flight from Vancouver to Toronto 2 weeks ago and this was about 30 minutes into my flight. What should have been a nice picture is really sadness and death in our northwest.
Had to cut the Montana trip short due to all the smoke. Thought I was back in the Midwest cuz I couldn't see any mountains.
Interesting about your comment on the smoke. Obviously this is caused by all the wildfires in the West. We were in Colorado in the Spring and had the same issue except it was done by intention. The ranchers burn off all the irrigation ditches so that the weeds and vegetation don't suck up valuable water resources. Still makes for a lot of smoke that was a constant iritation to the eyes and nose.
I thought maybe you were referring to the California fires. Heard they had to close Kings Canyon in the Sequoia National Forest. Big bummer f2f or many people!!

We were at Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks at the end of August. Didn't notice the smoke too much at Yellowstone, but it really put a damper on things at Grand Teton.

To bad. What part where you in. Hopefully you took the long way home
Glacier NP at both St. Mary's and Waterton, CAN. While crossing over the CAN/US border, on the way to Hungry Horse, were informed that Hwy 2 had been closed (again). That was enough so headed home.

We were in Kalispell for a few days and it was so smoky we couldn't see the Mts.

We have a view of Pikes Peak from our home. But about a month ago the smoke from the western fires was so heavy we could barely make out the mountain's outline. Very irritating to the eyes and sinuses for weeks.
