Growing up, I only first saw snow when we were driving far from home. It had started to snow a little. And there were a couple of little piles of snow along the road. I was about 5 years old. I played in it with a dress, and no mittens! I was freezing but still wanted more. I wanted to sled! Oh well.
When I became an adult with my own kids, we planned a trip up to Big Bear Mtn in So. Cal. We were there for two nights. All it did was snow. We had fun sledding, but now I had to contend with driving in the stuff. We used chains so we didn't slide around (chains were required). We had to scrape windows, freeze while waiting for the heater to heat, drive slow, enjoy the white stuff before it turned black/dirty/slushy, strip our layers when going to the store/restaurants, put all the layers back on to go back outside in the freezing cold.... Man! I finally saw why people complain about the snow. It was on that trip that I decided I like the snow, but only to play in.... NOT to live in! LOL
