SUV and TT flipped over
Saw this in Michigan on I69 southbound last week. Talk on CB radio was that he pulled out to pass a pick up and pulled back in to early and clipped the truck. I can't confirm that as it happened prior to me coming across it. No one was hurt from what I could see as they were all standing on the shoulder of the road. Looks like no WDH on there.

that stinks... it also looks like the TT may have been to big for that SUV. I'm fairly new to towing, but I did my research and I take it easy on the road. There's no need to ruin your vacation over a stupid mistake.

Yep, it works. Almost once a year on one of my trips to my TT(300 miles away)I see what your video shows. Sometimes just the TT, sometimes both. I always feel bad for them.

Often I see folks pulling large trailers that seem to be maneuvering like they had nothing on behind. Unfortunately, there are also distractions, like cell phones, kids hollering, and fiddling with dashboard navigation and entertainment. And excessive speed. All this leads to not concentrating on what driver and vehicle are doing, and then a accident looking for a place to happen. So sad when it happens.

I looked at the video a number of times, and paused it numerous times. The TV is an SUV on a truck chassis; it looks a bit like a high end Tahoe or similar. He hitch in the video is blurry, but the hitch is very big, which indicates a WDH, but on the TT there are trunnion brackets that are fairly clear on the TT. All 8 tires (TT &TV) look to be in good shape. As for clipping another vehicle I did not notice any damage to the bumper or sidewalls that would indicate a collision.
I suspect he was traveling to fast and ether began to sway as he passed the mentioned truck, possibly as he changed lanes got the wheels on the shoulder and lost it.

Hitch actually looks bent in the video. Agreed, I see what looks like a WDH hitch head but no bars. I think SUV was a Trailblazer but I could be wrong. I can confirm it was beautiful, sunny, and perfect road conditions with zero wind.

I also agree the TT looks a bit large for the TV. With the short wheelbase, it could have been a case of the tail wagging the dog. Did anyone else notice there's a hitch receiver on the TT too? It doesn't appear that it was in use at the time of the accident, though as it looks undamaged. I hate to think of how that combination would handle with the extra weight in that TT's receiver from whatever it was being used for.

It is a lot nicer for us having our tow vehicle heavier than our trailer rather than the other way around.

I wish I was that over protective, but with a 16,000 ish pound towing capacity and 7k or so of trailer I'm content as well.
Wish I had seen the video - however every rig is different and it seems hard to predict the cause....

If the cops saw you making that video here (Ontario, Canada), you would have been pulled over and given a ticket for $155.

May I presume by your statement that dashcams are illegal in Ontario too?

No. Using a hand held device while driving is illegal.
But it doesn't seem to stop a lot of people.
