The camping to home transition

Has anyone noticed after you get home from camping and after you have used the toilet you are using your foot to hit the flush valve?

I find myself looking in the home toilet to make sure the seal is holding. Especially after camping for a few weeks.

No. But I have noticed that I stop harping on people to not use so much water.

I will be going to the RV grave yard in St Pete when we return to see if i can pick up a foot flush valve to convert my toilet at home. Amazing how we become creatures of habit.

Good thing you don't live in Bellingham because when I come home from Southern California in November I leave the sun behind me and into rain for months on end.

When we get home it's hard to get used to letting the shower run.

Always feels strange not having my feet hanging off the end of the bed for a night or two.

I have difficulty with the cats. They don't come with us in the trailer, so when we're out, it's nice to NOT have them walking on my pillow (or playing in the blinds, or knocking stuff off my nightstand...) at 7 am wanting to eat. Our old wondermutt comes with us, and he's gotten quite good at letting us sleep in pretty late. Unless he has to "make", he generally leaves us alone.

Every now and then, I'll catch myself taking a camp shower at home. I figure, what the heck, I'll save a few pennies on the water bill!

I usually have to open the cabinet doors slowly to make sure thinks don't fall out when I open the door!!

I have also bent over to bring out the steps after we get back home!!

You could always do what I did: go full time! I'll never have to experience

It takes a while for me to get back into wasting fresh water the way the world does. When dry camping, water conservation gets ingrained in the brain.
