I don't think it matters much if Thor says their going to allow Jayco to run "business as usual". As a matter of fact, I think that particular statement is worth about as much as the paper it's printed on...not much. Anytime a company buys another company, it's to make a profit. If Thor management doesn't believe Jayco is making enough of a profit, or could make a bigger profit by "modifying" current business practices or using lower quality components (although, I don't see how that could be possible), then they'll interject. That's business...plain and simple.

I don't think this is a good thing at all.

Nooooooo please say it isn't so.... I will have to watch this closely... If the quality goes down hill then my next Jayco will be a LANCE CAMPER.. Oh well

I wasn't ragging or down grading Jayco about my brakes, I just had a brain fart thinking they may not care as much now if they knew they were being bought. Jayco is still my #1 pick from any other brand and if I traded today it would be another Jayco. I had a Cougar previously and not to bring down the other brands but it was no where close to the older Jayco I traded for it. Jayco rocks and is what I will have from now on if the Good Lord allows..

I really liked the "family owned" Jayco when I bought mine. None of us had $576 million to buy it ourselves, so we all we can do is wait and see what happens next.

I have noticed folks have been complaining about JAYCO customer service of late like getting help with diagrams etc... The one or two I have called them for diagrams etc they were immediately emailed to me in a PDF format...

Alawys passed that along when folks were asking JAYCO...

Jayco to thor

I just saw a post on FB citing a story in the South Bend Tribune stating that Thor Industries has purchased Jayco. Anyone have verification of this?

The figure I get for 2015 Jayco before tax profit is 5%
As an investment 5% does not seem that good.

So, unless I missed it. Some are mentioning quality may go downhill with this purchase of Jayco. No one has mentioned the 2 year warranty. I wonder if that will be eliminated down the road? If it does, I gotta believe sales will drop.

The good news is that 83 percent of RV manufacturing is now under the control of two people – Bob Martin, the CEO of Thor Industries, and Peter Liegl, the CEO of Forest River.

I don't see any good news in a virtual monopoly of a large industry.

I just bought a 16 Eagle two weeks ago. I guess this will be my last Jayco. Really is a shame.
