Tick Removal - It Really Works!
Breezi got a tick on her neck. I drew the short straw, so I had to get it out. I'm just a little squeemish and didn't have a match to do the heat-to-abdomen thing! So I went online and found several options. I tried the one posted below. It actually worked, but when I saw those little legs crawling around... well.... icky! I chose at that point to use tweezers to remove the tick which had by then backed out from Breezi's skin.
Rub the tick in a circular motion
*scratching* What is it about removing a tick, now I feel like I have them crawling all over me

That sure seemed to work. We used to soak them in alcohol until they relaxed and then take them with tweezers.

When Purrscilla picked up a tick last fall, we purchased a Tick Twister at our local Petco. For about a $5.00 investment, you get a tick removal tool that's quick, safe, easy to use and reliable. You never touch the tick. We keep the Tick Twister in kitty's travel bag so it's always with us when we go camping... just in case.

I just googled 'Tick Twister' and found what you mentioned. I also saw an online video showing an option to grab the ticks body and "twist" it out, and at the end of the video it showed a thingy that sorta looked like your Tick Twister!
I'ma thinkin' there's a Petco stop in our future in case I draw the "short straw" again!

You can buy it pretty cheap from Petco's online store but I'll bet the shipping/handling charge will be more than the Tick Twister by itself.
I found this Tick Twister video on You Tube. They show it being used on horses, dogs, cats and even people.
