Tin Can Tourists

Has anyone heard of the Tin Can Tourists? Apparently it's an RV/TT club with many of the trailers from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Here is their pic collection:

As I remember, that's what tourists were called when they towed those tiny little campers (many were teardrop and 10-12 feet long) back in the 50's and 60's. But it was way better than a tent. Could this be me, speaking from experience ??? And in those days, cars were big and strong and heavy enough to tow just about anything on the market, unlike today's wimper "cars".

Thanks so much for sharing! I just saw a camper that looks like the one my grandparent's owned when I was a child! This will be fun to show them. I really like how so many have used old decor with new materials.

Countless nights as kids and young adults in a pop-up, hardside TT and several tents!

I'm with you on the AC! I like my climate controlled environment.

I love some of the old cars and trailers in their picture collection.
