Tragic storms

I just saw on the news that 2 young boys were killed when a tree fell on their tent in a NJ State Park. Apparently they were cousins sharing adjacent sites when the storm got really bad they all huddled in one tent. The top broke out of a pine tree and fell on the tent, killing the boys but the rest of the family were OK. Truly a heartbreaking story.

We just saw some of the damage up in your neck of the woods on FOX. A lady died when a tree fell on her bed. Some poor guy died when a falling tree hit some power lines that landed on a car.

We are in Pa and barely knew a storm came through. We heard about it on the news. So sorry to hear of deaths due to the storms. We prayed for there families.

We live in part of the affected area here in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. Apparently the storm caused damage and deaths from North Carolina to Maryland. We had sudden 80mph winds and at least 4 funnel clouds touch down in our immediate area, after a flawless day on Friday. No local warning whatsoever from the weather service as to conditions being right for tornadoes. My son-in-law was at McDonald's when it hit, and the wind drove a large umbrella through the side window of his truck, with the family inside. He got a cut on the neck, and damage to the truck, but was very fortunate. Many large trees down, and our power has been out for two days - just came back on an hour ago. 37,000 homes out of power in Winchester, 1 hour north of us. Don't know why things like this happen, but our Bible says all things work together for good for those who know the Lord. It also shows who is still really in charge, doesn't it.

Here is an example of what a tree can do. This was one of our old outbuildings.
