Two Wheel Travel...,
Next to towing the TT around the country, sitting in the saddle of my Harley is my next favorite from of travel. One thing for sure, you can take in a lot scenery when traveling on a motorcycle. On one of many trips through the Smokey Mountains I found a spot about 20 miles outside of Brevard, NC., called "Pretty Place". This is the view from that location.....,
Also when traveling by motorcycle camping in a tent always reminds me how it all started.......,
Bob

Great view, campsite, and Harley, Bob. Ever try the Blue Ridge? They are beautiful as well, including the Skyline Drive.

Lee,
Yep, been all along Skyline Drive and the Parkway, from one end to the other. Also been up/down the Dragon a number of times ( http://www.tailofthedragon.com/)....., and another nice ride is the Cherohala Skyway.
The campsite in the photo was taken at Fairy Stone State Park (Virginia) not to far off the Parkway ( http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/fai.shtml). Camped there for a couple of nights after riding down from Skyline, working my way south-bound to the end of the Parkway.
Here's a little info on the "Pretty Place Chapel" in case someone is interested: http://www.campgreenville.org/chapel.php
Beautiful country we have here in the USA.
Bob

I've been impressed with the couple of Virginia state parks that I have camped in over the years. I like how the sites are spaced out and heavily treed between them (at least the ones I camped at).

Bob, Here`s a pic from another, Kiptopeke, Virginia`s third most visited SP. If you are ever on the Eastern Shore try out this little gem. (No mountains here) Its about 50 miles south of me and just North of the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel and its beaches overlook the Cheasapeake Bay. The WW II vintage concrete ships in the background were sunk to form a breakwater for the ferry that went from the shore to Norfolk before the bridge was built in the 60`s. The kids are mine! We go there at least once a year.
