watch for a deal on smoke damaged Pinnacle

I spotted this around South Bend, IN last week. Rumour is (and pics seem to indicate) fire started under the hood, possibly turbo or electrical issue. Driver, passenger, and their dog got out safely. Mind the poor commentary on the video...I could not figure out how to remove it via photobucket.

This one is a video...should be able to click it.

Wow, that`s not a pretty sight. Who covers the insurance for the trailer in your business if something like this happened to a delivery driver, you or the manufacturer?

We carry our own insurance. Not sure about the USA drivers but in Canada I run my own insurance which includes cargo insurance. First year my deductible was $2500 after that it dropped to $1000. And it's per INCIDENT so this particular case for ME deductible would be $1000. I know of drivers that have policies that state the deductible is per vehicle with $2500 deductible.....sooooo that driver maybe looking at $5000. Pretty much shuts you down for good.

You hope that was not a custom ordered 5ver, I would hate to have to wait another 6-8 weeks before delivery.

That is a scary scene! Hope I never have to go through that. Fortunately, everyone got out of there safely.

I wonder which started burning, the truck or the trailer.

From reading around I heard it might have been a cracked oil line spraying oil on the hot turbo. I have NO idea though. But I would tend to agree that this started in the engine compartment of the truck.
