I won't give my grandkids hot dogs, and from what I have read for nutrition for your family dog, they should not eat them either. So instead of hotdogs, I get locally made sausage dogs, better taste and thinking better for ya.
Had burgers tonite on the bbq, nothing beats a good home made burger, I made the rule last year, no store bought hamburger patties. All freshly made.
Never thought, is it possible to make home made hotdogs?????????

OK, some say that some hot dogs (weiners) are ground up snouts, lips, and whatever falls on the floor. Some say hamburger is ground up parts as well.....truth is they are probably right to an extent. USDA makes sure what you are eating is safe, maybe not too palatable if the ingredients were known, but still pretty tasty. I like them both and usually will have both at the campsite even though I prefer and voted for hamburger. A hot dog with cheese and the fixin's piled on it is good but the burger wins out with me. Last trip we had Johnsonville Brats and this will definately be on the next camping menu.

I usually only have an occasional hotdog when we go to Costco. But even the cheese slice there beats out the hotdog for my palate
