American Colonies by Alan Taylor. Interesting read, starting with the colonization of the Americas by peoples from Siberia 12,000 years ago or so, and their spread across the two continents. At that time the oceans were so low that there was a continuous stretch of land between Russia and Alaska.

It touches on Viking explorations, and then goes into the European exploration/destruction of North and South America and it's people.

In the past I've read a lot of fiction, but lately have switched to historical books. Like they say, the truth can be stranger than fiction.

Almost any mystery I can download free to my Nook. If I don't like it I just delete it. Also have several translations of the Bible and various commentaries, Bible studies, etc.

I missed Dean Koontz in my reading so I picked one up and now have read a few more of His. "The city" is a good book as is "out of the corner of His eye". Strange stuff but Koontz is such a wordsmith that it's fun to read.

I like action, adventure and history. I also like to read good guy/bad guy hero type books. Stephen Hunter is a master at those type books.

I like sci fi and have recently found a new author that publishes independently. Christopher Nuttel. In the last 6 months or so I've read about 18 of his books on my Kindle and really enjoy them. It also interesting to see how he has grown as a writer from his first book to his latest. Also love Clive Cussler Tom Clancy (rip) Dale Brown, Brad Thor and that genre of thriller

I just found an old Erskine Caldwell book. Today I will once again read "God's Little Acre".

Still working on my American Colonies book, but nearing the end. Since I started my job, it's no longer 4 books a week. It's more like a book every 4 or 5 weeks. Oh well, I read some most every day, but not all day sometimes like I used to.
