Took it into the dealership for it's first round of warranty work. It's only been a few hours but I miss Jay jr. already! Separation anxiety?!?!

I swapped out the shower head, used Command Strips to stick a puck light under each cabinet in the bedroom and finished spreading the 57 rock for the new parking area. It's bought beer thirty

Down on Jayco, at the moment
I've spent several hours trying to remove the engine cover/doghouse in my 2015 Precept. It is a thankless task. This Jayco is obviously designed for efficient assembly, not for maintenance access. The cover was held down by six VERY hard to back out sheet metal screws. Apparently the assembler had trouble, because there are four in one corner! i still wouldn't slide it out. I take out the four black screws that hold in the console and discover two more of the same mean screws almost beyond reach holding all the plastic facia to the cover. There are at least 17 connectors mating to the console - be ultra sure you really want to unplug any of those just to get a better angle on those screws. I couldn't get either of them to loosen using professional-level screw bits etc. (I've worked on race cars for 25 years) The screws are inserted so hard, the washers are dished. Project stops there.
While moving the doghouse around I discover two things: yes, there are holes big enough for your finger between the cover and the rest of the structure - they reflect daylight, are open to the incoming breeze and admit engine noise and heat - a lot of heat. And the plastic tubes leading to the A/C outlets have fallen off and retracted, one part of the heat problem in this RV. They just jam on and will come off again.
This vehicle is designed for assembly, without all that much attention to detail. Maintenance access is the owner's problem, not the factory's. I am very disappointed, especially over the prospect of keeping it for a long time.

I cleaned and dried all the voids on both sides plus the top and then filled with Dicor No-Sag sealant. I'm sure it won't be long before the next rain so I will know soon enough.

Please send some of that rain to central Alabama. We are drying up around here.
Nice job BTW.

Wired in an AutoFan switch, located the switch and verified operation. For anyone wanting to install the switch, use a 7/16 grommet in the hole you need to drill in the panel. And make sure you locate the thermostat sensor out of the AC and into the cabin. That will give you the a truer measurement of interior temps.

Gladly... we've had the wettest winter and early spring around here. It did keep the air clear though - I burned the wood insert all winter with no burn bans. First time that's happened. I'm ready for it to move along somewhere else for a bit since we are getting a later start to the season and aren't able to run away from it yet.

Spent the evening scrubbing the heck out of the roof. Now just need one more day without rain so I can add some dicor in a few places that need some attention.

Replaced the Group 27 Coach battery with a group 29 from Walmart. Huge improvement over the original

Brought it home from storage. I sanitized the tanks and lines and made a couple batches of ice.
I REALLY wish I had remembered to fix the leaky water pump BEFORE I got the system wet and pressurized. It's a tiny drip leak, but still... I have the stuff to do it, I just simply forgot.

The Beast is home!
Brought the 16xrb home from winter storage yesterday - (brother-in-law and sister-in-law's side yard, right next to their 28 foot TT). Emptied out the anti-freeze, checked that lights worked properly, checked that gas stove was OK, started up the fridge on AC. Did some general tidying. Will do a more thorough cleaning in the next few days.
First camping trip to Rock Island, IL will be soon. Time to start the spring dog show circuit again!

Stopped by the dealer today and ordered 15 feet of white glazing for the front window. Of course they had to order it - only had black in stock. I have it taped up pretty good to minimize any additional leaking until I get the glazing AND a day or two without rain to finish up the repair. Not surprisingly warranty was up last month and front window springs a leak this month....

De-winterized and washed it, installed anode rod into water heater (with drain valve), adjusted tire pressures, general interior cleaning, getting ready for week at the Kentucky Horse Park in a couple of weeks!

Continued working on repairs for the front window leak on my 195RB. The glazing I ordered hasn't come in yet but I stopped by the dealer today to find some new weather-stripping to go around the edge of the rock guard that covers the window. A big part of this problem I think is the fact that the weather stripping from the factory is crap. Coupled with poor installation it's been allowing a lot of water behind the rock guard when it's closed where it can pool up on the glazing.
Here are some shots before and after. First one is factory weather stripping around the corners - as you can see it's not even lined up to make a seal with the frame. All 4 corners were this way. Second one is the new weather stripping after installation. Third one shows the new stripping in place with the rock guard closed. Last one shows the new stripping on the left and the factory stripping on the right. The new stripping is rubber while the factory appears to be a foam material.
Slowly but surely this repair is getting done....

Pulled the TT out of the storage lot and parked it in front of the house. Washed the roof real good and rinsed the sides. Several packages arrived this week from Amazon for our TT. We bought a portable EMS, 50'x4" roll of Eternabond tape & weighted roller along with 1 tube each of Dicor sealant (both leveling & non). Tomorrow I'll climb up on the roof and put the tape on the front seam and around the vent, skylights, ladder, etc. Then I'll follow that with some of the Dicor self-leveling sealant. I also installed a much needed paper towel holder and did some spring cleaning inside the trailer. All in all, a very productive day. We're already counting the days until we head to the PNW to escape the oven here at home.
