Ordered a new leg for the dinette table from a Jayco Factory Direct parts warehouse. The leg has had problems for a while and has reached a point where I'm tired of dealing with it.

Also did some troubleshooting on the fridge as it appeared to barely be working on propane on our return trip earlier this week. I found that it cools fine on electric - down to 32 in the main compartment and -5 in the freezer 4 hours after turning it on. Did that same test with propane today and after 3 hours main compartment was still almost 70 while the freezer was about 15. I suspect the burner assembly and flue are dirty even though the flame looks reasonable. So I'll see if I can clean that up a bit with some compressed air and a vacuum first. I'd rather not have to pull fridge out if I can avoid it.

Cleaned around the fridge propane burner assembly to see if I could get it to start working better while running on propane. It's really hard to get to but I managed to pull the cover off the top of the flue and remove the small cork-screw like baffle that hangs down the pipe so I could shoot some compressed air through it and around the burner assembly. Gave the pipe a few taps with a small hammer as well but didn't see much of anything come out as a result.

After re-assembling I fired it up again on propane. Best I can tell the burner flame seems fine, though even that is rather difficult to get a good look at. I've had it running now for a couple of hours and it doesn't look like it's changed the behavior. So hedging my bets I've got an appointment next week to have it looked at. I had to find someplace other than my selling dealer as they don't have any openings until middle of September. We've got 2 trips planned between now and then so that doesn't work.

Had to repair the molding on the bathroom door as it came loose on the last trip. I ended up pulling it off completely so I could clean up the mess behind it first. The paneling on each side of the door frame had just been sliced with a razor knife so it had hills and dips which prevented the adhesive from having a continuous bond the entire length of the molding. Those got cut down to make the edges even. It actually looks like it may have been "installed' more than once as there were two different layers of adhesive that were two different colors.

After cleaning it up I applied a thick bead of Loctite Adhesive caulk, closed the door and used some wedges to apply even pressure while it dried up. Now the door doesn't stick at the top and the gap appears uniform top to bottom.

2005 Escapade

Busy day: finished repairing the loft ceiling from an old leak, waiting for seam tape to complete the job. In process of painting entire inside, so cabinet doors removed and primed, everything taped off and sanded and cleaned, and bedroom covered with two coats of primer.

Beat the crap out of it again. It's 18 months old and has crossed the US three times east to west and twice north to south. Aside from tires and a bearing issue and a cracked toilet valve no problem. Lots of travel on dirt roads and permafrost

What are your thoughts so far? I had a failure Saturday night and am looking at those for my replacement tires.

Mounted an extra set of scissor jack stabilizers in front of the axles for a total of 6 now. I used #14 self-tapping hex head screws (1 inch long) and lock washers, 4 screws per jack screwed directly into the frame just like the other 4 came from the factory.

Also mounted a small oscillating fan to the ceiling in the corner of the bedroom. There was already an AC outlet up there for a second TV (which we don't plan on adding) so the install was clean and out of the way.

Added an under sink filter. Should save us some room in the fridge as we don't need the filter pitcher anymore and I don't have to mess with a filter on the hose when I hookup either.

Getting settled in. Took down the sliding shower curtain, installed residential bar. Finding spots for dishes and kitchen stuff. We have a way to go just getting started. Thanks to all tip posters.

Greased the wheel bearings, painted the drums, inspected the tires, gave it a bath, and lubed the stab jacks. Prep for Virginia trip Friday!

Finally got around to giving it a good bath after our last long trip. The benefits of keeping the front waxed were quite apparent...

Installed a bar on my exterior bathroom door, slim shade windows on each exterior door and a ridiculous exhaust fan in the bathroom. Loving all of the upgraded and enjoying the benefits. Well worth the investment!

Pulled it home from storage last night. Got a lot of work to do before a 10-day road trip.

I had rented an RV once that had this problem. It turned out the over-temp sensor in the exhaust flue area was over-insulated so it kept shutting down the burner for the fridge thinking there was a fire risk. A dealer went top side, pulled a lot of insulation from around the exhaust so it could breathe about the flue and it was fine after that. May want to monitor it and see if the burner shuts down and comes back on when it cools, even if the fridge remains too warm inside. Good luck!

Ordered a pleated shade first aid kit a couple weeks ago, so I pulled down the shade last night so DW could re-string it. Got a busy night tonight, so unlikely I'll get to work on the trailer, but plans for the weekend fell through, so I'll be busy working on the trailer over the weekend.
