I decided it was time to upgrade my original dumb television to a new slightly larger smart TV. No problem buying it, but attaching it to the lift system in my 5er was another thing. As I sort of expected the new TV wouldn't match up to the mounting holes on the original bracket so off to a local machine shop to have 4 holes drilled in the bracket and then on to the hardware store to get the mounting bolts for the new TV. I should be able to pick up the newly drilled bracket this morning and hopefully it will all go back together easily. Nothing is ever simple it seems, but the new TV has been working sitting on my rear cabinet since yesterday and it was definitely worth the upgrade in picture quality alone.

Ed, Did you get the same size screen as the oe set? We are thinking one day that our RCA will go to the scrap heap and there are so many options now, I have given it some thought but until it dies, it has a reprieve.

Finished packing, filled the water tank, added chems to the black tank, everything ready to leave in the AM. All I have to do it switch the fridge over to gas, unplug the electric, back it off the level blocks and head out. Been hitched up since last Saturday when I got home from a test run after having the brake controller installed.

My 40" RCA was still working fine, I just wanted a new set. The main reason is that I have unlimited data on my Verizon smart phone, but only if I use the data on the phone and with the new Samsung smartTV I can stream direct to the TV wireless which does not use my smartphone's wifi 15gb monthly limit for hotspot or tethering. And I get a much nicer picture on the TV. I got a Series 7 Samsung 43" UHD. If you look at these make sure you get the 43" with the 43" screen. They offer a 43" with a 40" screen. Confusion at it's finest.
That was the long answer to your question. The 40" RCA was 38" wide and the newer 43" Samsung TV is the same outside width, but with the smaller bezel you get a larger screen with the same overall width which works with my rear TV cabinet. I have the rear TV lift and that turned out to be the only problem. Not the lift itself, but the mount. The RCA had a 400x400mm mount arrangement and the new set which it lighter by several pounds has a 200x200mm mounting arrangement and the mounting holes are different vertically than the RCA. I took the bracket to a local machine shop and had the holes drilled (that bracket is thick and HEAVY) and picked up the metric screws at a local hardware store and put it all back together. Just be careful that you have the holes drilled in the correct spot vertically to allow the TV to be at the right height when up and down.
I absolutely love the set. You won't regret the picture quality difference.
The exact model I have is: Samsung UN43NU7100F

Are you Darlington for the Race? It's been hotter than the lower levels of hell here lately.

Installed the bumper mount for the grill. Once I got it to the right of the roof ladder, easy peasy. All set for the Smoky Mountains.

Put up a Command hand-towel bar in the bathroom — don’t understand why Jayco put the original ring so low. Almost worthless. Also, finally got around to putting bug screens on furnace, hot water heater, etc.

I'm 2 days late due to working at the campground over the last 3 days, but first thing this morning it is time for my monthly: run generator for an hour under load, switch Norcold to propane (just did that), switch water heater to propane for a load of laundry, and run the lint cleanout routine on the Splendide.
It sounds like a lot, but doesn't take much time at all and it keeps things working when I need them to work without shore power.
