We were at Pioneer last weekend. A balmy high of 54 and lows in the upper 30s made for a pretty cold trip, but it was nice to get away.

We stopped going to Gulf Waters when some fool accused my (then) 3 YO son of "digging up the grass and rocks". I was connecting utilities just after we arrived while my son was playing with a tiny dump truck (maybe the size of 2 Hotwheels) in the gravel area near me. Park staffer drove up and told me someone had reported "kids digging up the rocks and grass". He looked at my son, chuckled, turned around and left. My son has always been very small for his age, he couldn't dig up anything if you gave him a shovel, even now; he was hardly coordinated enough to pick up a handful of gravel. The accusation was absolutely ridiculous and extremely offensive. I decided right then we wouldn't be back. Last thing I need is some uppity a-hole giving us grief just because we have a kid with us. Too bad too, because I always liked that place.

Anyway, what I did to my Jayco? Winterized it. It'll be a while before we get to take her out again most likely. I will try to get away once or twice more this Spring, but it will be after May before we get back into it in earnest.

Took advantage of a warm sunny day and blew out my water lines, checked water level in batteries and psi in tires. Back to the storage yard tomorrow until spring .

Tuesday, New Years day I installed a TV mount for the TV that Santa brought the wife and I.

Today I swapped out the CHEAP Atwood thermostat for a digital one. No more wondering if we were going to break the ON/OFF switch.

Best,
Steve

Performed my monthly: generator run under load for an hour, switched the norcold and water heater to propane for a day. All worked perfectly.

Inspected inside and out with a pre delivery checklist in hand...post delivery. I asked too many questions on delivery day mid Dec. The 24RBS is passing with flying colors! Thank you Jayco and Trailside RV. More to do tomorrow.

Got the front 2 JT’s installed. Started drilling holes for the drivers side and battery died and my backup battery that I thought was charged apparently was not! [emoji35][emoji35][emoji2959][emoji2959]

So I’m now back at the house charging batteries...then I’ll go back and finish.

Just got home from a 10 day trek across Texas. 1673 miles traveled. Got average of 9.5 mpg which isn’t too bad considering the freezing weather and going up the mountains on the way there.

Finally got a break in the weather and installed the Blue Sea Systems battery cut-off switch. I've been meaning to do this for quite a while and just never seemed to get around to it so it's nice to finally have it off the list. Also put a few lbs of air in the tires as they were a little low. Now I can go back to the kitchen remodel the DW thinks I have time for since the trailer is supposed to be covered...

And still more USB power!

Been meaning to get additional USB power in the bunkhouse and I finally did it. The boys and their friends will be happy

I went high on the outdoor kitchen-bunk side as I didn't want to have anyone kick and or mutilate the mount. The other side is mounted in between the bunks so they can share.

I removed the power socket in each and replaced with an on-off switch to both kill the light from the USB sockets and eliminate the parasitic draw.

I still have to add USB power on the second side of the master bed and probably in the dinette area. I've also included an old picture of the USB charging panel that I had previously installed in the entertainment center under the TV. I've got an HDMI port that I'll put in above this panel to get into the TV

Once again Amazon saves the day:

Finally have the ground frozen enough to put it alongside the house for the winter and get it out of the driveway.

Did anyone ever swap out the smoke alarm with one from Home Depot or Lowes? Did it make a difference over the one included when you brought your RV?

I put an on/off switch inline with the Carbon Monoxide detector so when the trailer is parked at home, I can turn it off and not have parasite draw on the battery.

I made ours smile, I think. I just made 5 different reservations for camp trips starting in April thru July. Only 2-3 night stays a trip but the Jayco seemed to be pleased for the effort made to get it out of the driveway. I wish I could have made a reservation at one of our favorite places but with the shutdown they are not taking reservations.

Dropped the TT off at the dealer (Manteca Trailer) for a couple repairs. Had a ceiling panel sagging and some trim in the bunkhouse falling off/splitting. I was going to fix the trim myself but figured why bother if it's going for the ceiling panel anyway.

What I did today

I pulled her from the storage yard she has lived at for the last 2 years onto the newly cured, deluxe pad at our new house!

Just finished putting fresh grease in the moryde bushings and in the B&W. No pics...it was a bit of a messy job. Also stopped by the grocery store on the way home...but that’s for another thread!
