Added automatic generator start module (standalone) to help protect the 4-legged kids while we're not there. Pretty straightforward install.

Added a glove box holder and bayonette fitting to hole my 3" 90 near the black/gray water discharge. Happens to be the back of the drivers side rear mudflap.

Finally enough dry days to cover it up and tuck it in for a winters nap. Hoping for a early spring so we can get back to it. Last trip was Columbus Day weekend and I'm already antsy.Click image for larger version

Put her covers on for the winter. Contacted Good Sam insurance and told them the trailer was parked alongside the house for the winter and just received my $76.00 back from the insurance since it is now in storage.

Having my morning cup, second one actually, as I always do and have the w/d busy washing some clothes. It is currently 39 degrees outside, but supposed to be a sunny day. Full timing is great.

install slide topper

okay folks. I had a leak in my 2017 29' REKS travel trailer slide out. The kitchen table/couch slide did not look like a slide topper was installable. But necessity demanded I do something quick!
I purchased this item M6VV000168109 V000168109 Lippert from rvandautoparts for $400 w/shipping. It is 13.5 feet long. Of course they lost or failed to ship the toprail- nothing new here- common complaint.

The window was in the way and had to take the grinder and make a small adjustment to the mounting bracket. Other than that seemed like it went well. Most screws found a good bite which was a concerning, but unfounded fear.

Now I need to work on the drip gutter which seems to have dry rotted, or at least that is what it appears to be. I will be calling Jayco to figure out what that part number will be. (Picture turns upright when selecting.)

Washed and waxed the entire rig including my truck. OK, I had it done, but it all looks great.

Ordered a Progressive Industries PT30X EMS to replace my basic PI surge protector. Thanks to the wise folks on JOF, I convinced myself a full EMS is a wise investment for a long trip this summer. Camping World had a Black Friday special that actually made it cheaper than Amazon! Gotta say, until I got an RV, I’d never spent so much money on things I hope I never have to use!

Washed it and put it away for winter, or at least until the warranty appointment . . .

Lucky you!! Absolutely beautiful place. I've camped there 3 or 4 times but not in the last 5 years. Love the fact that you can fish from the piers without a license. Tough to get in if your an outsider these days. Best of luck with your new camper.

We have a Surge Guard EMS and have been thankful for it twice. Once when the neutral opened up on a series of pedestals and when that happens it puts 220 v where 110 v should be. It disconnected the RV from the pedestal, with no damage to our electronics. Our eight neighbors on the same circuit lost TVs, radios, and inverters. Consider it a one time payment insurance.

A second time it would not connect due to a hot ground, saving me from getting knock on my butt from a hot frame on the RV.

Good decision.

We bought a Garmin RV785 & traffic GPS last week. We put in our next trip and it routed us correctly. We had a Rand Good Sam RV5525 POS that tried to take us down bad roads and switchbacks with a 40 foot fiver. Then we found that the lifetime map updates wouldn't because Rand shutdown the app and "it wouldn't run on our computer." So stay away from Rand. Now our phone will talk to the Garmin GPS with calling and recevig calls. However, it won't go past the second screen on the phone where it wants to go NEXT. Any suggestions? I'm trying to work with Garmin, but they seemed confused since the GPS and phone see each other.

How long did it take to install it?
