Winterized the TT today.

I changed the frayed string on one of my day night shades. Pretty simple task.

Flushed my black tank REAL GOOD after being on a site without sewer hookup for the past 4 1/2 months. I flushed this sucker good and as we would all expect the idiot lights still show one step down from full. I'm glad I quit worrying about those idiot lights a long time ago.

Went through the first winterization process. Drained and filled with 'red pop', as my wife calls it. Now to remember which valves to swap back next spring. Still in the driveway for cleaning and such before hitting indoor storage for the winter. The family is crushed. Been a great first year and the whole purchase and trips have been a huge hit.

The dusty Blue Water Challenge truck race is now over and I mentally told the Jayco I would wash and wax the front cap if nothing pressing comes up tomorrow. Just about anything could be pressing.

Yesterday was "run the generator day" just to make sure sure all is in working order. I checked the oil and filled the fuel tank in preparation for the rest of this week. I leave Tuesday for Road Atlanta for the 2013 Petit le Mans race. I run the generator 1 hour the first of each month under load anyway, but yesterday was just another "check see".

Today is: top off the batteries, wash all clothes, dump the tanks one last time, fill the fresh water tank (no hookups at Road Atlanta), put the Genturn in the basement......Now what am I forgetting?

If any of you will be at Road Atlanta this coming week, I will be on site #13 at turn #6. Stop by for a cup. It is going to be cool so I'm sure coffee will be in order.

Started loading for the weekend !!!

Cleaned all caulk from the shower door and re placed with tub and tile caulk. Did not stick properly. I removed all of it and re applied Almond Silicon caulk to the outside lower seam of the shower door.

Ok after curing.

Fresh water pump would run but no water pressure. Took it to the dealer today and they are replacing the pump. Should get it back tomorrow and hit the road for TX tomorrow afternoon.

Replaced the two old amber clearance lights on my '05' Eagle's front cap this morning. They were getting a little weathered and have endered a couple "Dicor touch-ups" over the years.

New lights, some butyl tape, and a little Dicor caulking gave the cap a fresh look.

I've been concerned about the water tightness of those recessed clearance lights at the top of the front cap; the recess makes a nifty funnel when driving or with wind blowing to concentrate water and air blowing at the clearance lights.

I removed mine a while ago and put in a heavy layer of butyl behind the lights, between the rear of the light and the cap material. What did you do with the Dicor?

After carefully trimming off the excess butyl with a razor knife so it was flush around the white plastic clearance light base seam, I then ran a small bead of Dicor (vertical surface blend, not the self-leveling stuff) around the top edge seam of the plastic white light base and down both side edge seams (not the bottom base edge) giving the Butyl a little extra moisture "run-off" protection. It also provides a better finish look as well. (NOTE: I didn't apply any Dicor to the actual amber lens cover seam).

This same Dicor moisture "run-off" application should be performed on all windows, door frames, tail lights, etc., but it's not necessary to apply the Dicor all the way down the side seams of the windows, doors, etc..

The Dicor is a little "tacky/stringy" upon applying, so I let it set for a little while, then run a wet finger to smooth out the Dicor along the edge.

Jayco use to do this on all there new FW's, TT's, etc., don't know if they still do.

I washed the shady side of the trailer this morning. Tomorrow evening I will wash the other side when it cools down. Then the waxing will begin.

We took our brand new 2014 Precept out for a shake down trip. 15 items for dealership to fix before we head to Florida in November for the winter. Can't wait!!

I waxed part of the front cap today. I have about half of it done as it is taking about 4 coats to get it looking good. Last year I was LAZY and didn't even wash the trailer so I am paying for it this year.
