Like a couple small dabs! Red requires lots of heat to break loose.

Well I got my new awning on today and yes it was a pita. I also installed my new Carefree EZ-Zip sunblocker as well. The pics I took were right after the install, and I had to tweak it some to get most of the wrinkles out you see. Pretty happy with the whole set up as the outer layer of my old Carefree awning was starting to peel off. Funny thing, removing the old awning was the easy part. When I started to install the new awning, I needed a little more play in the awning arms to make the install go easier so I went to the switch and pushed the "in" button and all that happened was the roller tube was spinning. I thought crap, I've broken something so I looked at the motor and and all seemed fine then it hit me. Hey ding-a-ling, there has to be something installed on the roller tube so it can roll itself up! So...............yeah, I'm not the most polished doorknob in the house. Did all of this at my storage facility.

This is for you tinkerers and thinkers. This idea can be adapted to use for so many ways if you resized it. A RV back bumper mount, make a drawer to store things under your RV, front hitch mount on your Tow Vehicle, (not too high to block air flow to cool the radiator). Uses for this in my mind can be limitless. I may never build one, but I love the design. I am sure most of you could figure how to keep the weather out of it if you wanted. Have fun with it.

Not today but yesterday. Traded in the Jayco for a Keystone Cougar. Drove it home from Hill AFB UT to Quincy CA. Roughly 630 miles.

Cleaned up some of the wiring and hose mess under the chassis. There were loose wires and butt connectors without heat shrink tubing. I used hot melt glue to seal the connectors. The fuel lines to the generator were just hanging so I slit some rubber hose to protect The lines and wire tied them to some metal bracing. Also tested the DEF fluid and then topped it off. I may ask this in another thread but I noticed the chassis ground on the generator has no wire connected to it. Should there be?

I replaced the flimsy return air filters with a 1/4" foam filter.

Serviced 2 (of 4) sets of wheel bearings..
New seals, new grease and, in one case, new bearings themselves, because I damaged one getting them out.
But, we learn from our mistakes, and the second wheel was much easier and simpler. The secret lies in knowing which bits to hit, and how hard :-)

Then it rained, so the other two wheels can wait till next weekend.
(Ever notice how all those "How to..." videos take place in nice clean, well lit, shops and garages, with all the right tools neatly lined up and ready? I want to see one titled "How to service your bearings, while lying on the lawn in the rain" )

Opened the low point drains. It won't be too cold or long lasting, but it is a change.Click image for larger version

I assembled the two smaller and two taller cabinets, drilled holes where I needed to and pushed against the wall, bolted all 4 together. They're all in there tight, no wiggles, rock solid.

The hardest part was having to use my HighLift jack and raise the ceiling and fight fight fight to get the tall ones in as far as needed. After struggling so much since Saturday I'm hurting in places I forgot about and not sure if I know the name of

I also stubbed out an extra 110v outlet on the reinforced end wall.

Those cabinets from Harbor freight are the most well packed of anything I've ever seen! There's a ridiculous amount of stryo in these boxes. Atfer I removed all the cabinet pieces and put the styro back it still completely filled up the large empty boxes.

Got the wiring, clearance and tail lights completed today. Phew, looks so much better. Now just waiting for the rear corner trim to come in! Then it's seal it up and replace the wheels/tires, seal and coat the roof, rewire for the battery, replace the rubber propane lines and a few bits inside.

WTH? Sorry I missed this post 6 days late. Wait...4 calipers, 2 bolts each, 5 gone? How did those without any stay on? Edit-just read up. I see how now. BUT....Dang, that is crazy! Glad you caught them in time, Tom!!! Check all your caliper arms bolts too. 20 of those. See if they are present and still torqued good.

Frosted to Tinted

Changed out the original frosted glass in both doors of the WhiteHawk 31bh for tinted windows with shades.

Wowsers! What an improvement!

If you change these out, beware, the glass may not be stuck to the frame as good as you think. Luckily I caught the window in mid air! Phew! Use a little bit of tape to hold it in. Put the tape right on the edge in the corners and it will be hidden when installed.

Picked them from Amazon.

The other day, was looking underneath and it seems previous owners had a couple of issues since there were two areas that were cut away then retaped. Well, that tape was loosening so I fixed up with some ole two-hundred-mile-an-hour duct tape. Should be golden for a couple more years.
