We were informed that the water in the park would be off for about 3 hours. The hi lite of the day for me was running about 5 gallons into the trailer water tank so we could flush the toilet and wash our hands.

I cleaned it up and close the slide before the storm rolls in this weekend.

The first thing I do when I arrive at any campground after hooking up the electricity is to completely fill my fresh water tank. When (not if) the water goes out I have just shy of 90 gallons. One summer in Florida the water was out 11 times over a 4 month period.

Finished winterzing and pulled the batteries into the garage for winter storage.

Installed a ball valve on the fresh water tank over flow line. Could not believe how much water I was losing in that 1 hr drive to hunt club every weekend. Typically I'd get set up an see 3/4 a tank of water an now I wake up the next day after a shower an what ever else an see all 4 lights.

Replaced the shower faucet. The old single lever faucet was doing a poor job of mixing hot and cold. Replaced it with conventional two knob faucet.

My Suburban water heater has for years produced less water temperature on propane vs electric. It really didn't get bad until yesterday morning while taking a shower and I ran out of hot water. I NEVER run out of hot water when showing so.....I always have 2 spare thermostats for the Suburban and I changed the propane one. Problem solved. I'm on my home base site for the winter and I have an external 150 gallon propane tank so I use it for hot water and the furnace.

FINALLY got a surge protector! I've only been talking about it for about 5 years. The fire in by britches was ignited by a lightning strike at or VERY near my home that fried a TV and DVD player inside the S&B, and did a lot of weird things to the camper, which was plugged into my RV shore power on the side of the garage at the time. Nothing too major, but enough little weird things that it accelerated the priority a protection device for the camper.

Anyway, I went with the Hughes Watchdog. Plugged it in last night and so far, so good! It'll be neat to see our amp draw under various conditions among other things.

I also adjusted the headlights, washed the sheets, couple other little things I can't think of right now...

Put some new Alcoa wheels on and while I was at it put a set of centramatics on front and back. Looks good and a lot easier to check air. The ride is very smooth.

After close to 10 years service my RhineFlex sewer hose gave up. It made it's last move and setup about six weeks ago and I just noticed a leak about 1.5' from the 90 degree fitting into the sewer pipe. My plan was to cut the end off and hook it back up to the 90 degree fitting which was also just short of 10 years old. The translucent 90 degree bend crumbled in my hand during the process. I had spares of both items so I'm back in service.

I pulled the battery and TV out of the camper for the winter. I winterized about 3 weeks ago but was hoping for some decent weather to maybe get 1 more trip in since winterizing again is easy, but to no avail. My camper is in a storage lot and it sits nose high for water run off. Every year come spring time when I open the awning it's pretty dirty so this year I taped up the high side awning end hoping to prevent water/dirt intrusion. We'll see I guess.

Lifted the wheels off the ground for the winter . . .

I have no idea if this is necessary or even a good idea, but it's something I've done with cars in the winter so I assumed that it would be OK for the motorhome. It's easy to do once you cut some lumber into blocks and use blocks under the levelers to minimize piston travel. Adding pieces of two inch or one inch boards as shims allows it to sit level for the winter as well.

Put ceramic coating on the newly painted front cap.

I also found that the slide edge covers paint is already starting to fade. So, I polished the paint and ceramic coated those also.

Nice. What ceramic coating did you use?

Ah...I thought you were using the ceramic coating that comes in a tiny bottle and costs mucho. I haven’t used Griots. I’ve been using Turtle wax. The Turtle Wax stuff is really good and well priced.

Once the SiO2 is gone, I will put be using a longer lasting one. I just needed a quick protection for the cap and slide panels.

Just got back from a trip. Cleaned it up and winterized. In north Texas I’m getting into the “I don’t know” season. I don’t know when it’ll freeze, and I don’t know when I’ll get back out again.
