Started cleaning up and putting things inside where they need to be for travel after being on my home base site for the past six months. We are leaving Monday for 3 weeks at two campgrounds in central Alabama and Panama City Beach, FL.

Evicted my grown son...he's 31, from the Jayco, he is now living in the Layton. Swapped the factory installed microwave from the Jayco in the Layton, and the replacement Dometic convection oven microwave from the Layton into the Jayco. Only required reconstructing the supports holding the vent hood up (replacing 1 inch planks with another sheet of 3/8 OSB), made opening 1 inch wider and 1.75 inches taller. So tight a fit I even had to remove the ceiling mounted light fixture, but it's in!

Cleaned it inside and out and cleaned it out. Traded in on a 212 QB. Now we have to find a suitable tow vehicle. Ford is having computer supply problems

Got the fan swapped out for a Hunter 42” 5 blade. Should move way more air than the factory 36” 4 blade!

Kim, congratulations on your upgrade to a 212QB, we love ours. It's a perfect couples trailer.

I'm not sure which tow vehicle you've decided on but here's my 2 cents worth. We pulled our 212 almost 10,000 miles last year with our V6 Durango. Our bigger trips were from Chicago to Houston and back on the Natchez Trace and a trip around Lake Michigan. We averaged about 11 MPG. If you are considering a Durango, you could opt for the V8, more power but less fuel economy. One thing to note is that we didn't travel through any mountains.

A friend in Houston was selling his Sierra so we took it off his hands. On the trip home, the Sierra pulled our 212 well but averaged only 9 MPG.

I know others have mentioned that they like the stability a pickup offers versus an SUV so that's another consideration.

Whichever tow vehicle you pick, I'm sure you'll enjoy your 212QB.

one thing we would like is for the truck to fit in the garage. Our Ridgeline fits well so we want something similar in size as the opening only is about four inches taller.

Keeping a vehicle outside presents logisitics problems with our snowplowing needs. Because of the plow pattern there isn't a place to keep one with out getting it plowed in.

We were looking at f 150's and have written off the Tacoma as it has terrible payload. Have to look at Durango and Canyon and Colorado

Probably enough material for another thread! We can get the qb home with the Ridgeline with nothing in it.. Real world is another issue.

A properly equipped F150 would tow that quite nicely. Speaking from experience.

I agree, in fact I spec'd our new F150 for our needs with the trailer and it's just about perfect. We won't be going to a bigger trailer and we like the comfort level in the Lariat trim...

You don't mention the Ranger (Ecoboost 4 and 7000lb cap with tow package) or the NEW 2022 Nissan Frontier. Haven't heard much about it other than the power train people carried over the new-last-year engine and transmission a dohc v-6 with normally aspirated 310 hp, but it's supposed to haul somewhere around 7200-7600 lbs. No info on payload. The 2021 was rated at 1480.

Purchased materials to construct my own second stinky slinky holder. I have one hose in the bumper, I'm adding this one to hold an additional 20 or more of hose.

Nice Dan. The only ones I can find are the ones that swivel at the top and have a light. What model is yours?

Comparing the full size f150 to midsized trucks from other brands? Why not look at full-sized trucks from all the brands. As an owner of a ram truck I would personally avoid anything from that maker. Not very reliable and poorly made. When I wear it out I won’t buy that brand again.

Probably not the 150. We have no room to keep it outside during snowplowing season. We would have to move a lot of snow to dig it out. Would like something that fits in the garage and do need 4x4. We still have a lot of snow and ice here. Starts snowing Oct and it is gone by May. But thanks for Ram advice. I hear it a bit.
