Come on...give me a little credit. Hanging a fan isn’t that hard.

The day before we left our campsite last week a rivet broke on my fold down steps and almost threw me. I had to prop it up on one side with some boards until we go home. I purchased a stainless steel 5/16 x 1 bolt and nyloc nut and replaced the rivet. Had to drill out part of it but now my steps are solid again.

I have heard all the weight jokes from my wife so save me the pain!

We just spent the weekend in Quartzsite, Arizona, where the temperature was 85 degrees on Friday and Saturday. This was our first trip where we could do a real world test with the RV Airflow installed in our Coleman Mach 15k AC. (See post # 8675 on pg. 434) Prior to the install it took quite awhile to reach the set temp on the thermostat once we plugged into shore power. It was 85 outside and 81 inside when I first powered up the trailer. I set the thermostat to 76 degrees and within 30 minutes the AC shut down and the inside was a cool 76 degrees. That's never happened that quick before.

During the day when the AC restarted it only ran a few minutes before it reached the set temp and shut down. It has never done that before either. It used to run quite awhile before reaching the set temp. It also seemed to run a lot quieter because when it ran we didn't have to turn up the volume on the TV like we did before.

Needless to say we are both impressed with the great improvement. It works better than we expected and so glad we found the RV Airflow video! Best mod I have made to my trailer since new!

I got a chance to check out my unit after its long winter's nap. No mice! I guess I did a good job stopping up all the holes. Or I got lucky. Either way, yeah! It comes home in 2 weeks to be dewinterized before our first trip in 3 weeks.

No weight jokes, but it IS a riveting story. Glad you didn’t get hurt when the step broke, Norty! I think I’ll go check mine out of precaution.

I took the cover off yesterday, got the batteries installed and did a quick check for a 200mi round trip run to the dealer today to get my springs recall completed.

Picked it up from storage last night. Started making ice and getting things ready for a little getaway trip to a new place.

Mount all new Sailun S637 tires tomorrow, (got 30K on the old ones) and a new TransEagle F rated spare. Replacing the 5+ yr old Rainier spare (used 800 miles) brand that most said was not worthy. Found all on Walmart.com. Wow, great price.

Got them all mounted and balanced, and I installed them on Tues.

However, the tire man pointed out the factory spare rim was bent. I only used it for two travel days of 800 miles. Absolutely no scuff marks from bottoming out as the spare rides under and after the rear axle. Had to take his many tape weights off as when I mounted it to test it, the weights got stuck on the disc brake caliper. The spare really doesn’t wobble around that seriously, so I’ll keep it.

And the spare tire winch cable had too big a hole (19” long slit) and wasn’t centered. Fixed and gorilla taped. Obviously an entrance for mice and cold air.

Picked up my camper from getting a new rear axle. Drove it straight to the tire shop for 2 new Goodyear Endurance tires because they were ruined by the bad axle.
