The only good thing is you know it's going to melt shortly.

Found another potential leak on the front cap- one I thought I had fixed already. Have been working on all seams of front cap for a few days. All cleaned and re caulked.
Dewinterized the water tank and pipes, soaking in bleach water overnight.
Found some loose screws on awning, tightened and caulked that.
Turned on fridge, tested on gas and electric- both ok.
Tested water heater gas burner- ok I'll check electric once it's full of water.

Basically checking, caulking, cleaning everything in preparation for a 2.5 to 3 month East Coast trip.

Tomorrow I should make a crappy looking cardboard sign in case I need to beg for gas money this summer.

I put a splitter on the low pressure propane hook up so I could hook up not only my bbq, but my cooktop with pizza oven and something else.

I broke in the new cooktop and pizza oven this weekend.

I guess caulking the the seams on the front cap will work, but why not just use Eternabond on all the seams and be done with it.

Trip to Colorado in a couple weeks. My storage area neighbors are gone so I took the opportunity to have all the sides out while under cover. I lubed all the slides, tightened a couples things , ran through all but the propane systems and took inventory of necessities. Only issue I found was a tire at 55 psi. Other three were 80 on the nose. All four are closing in fast on the wear bars and figured I could make it to CO and back but think I’ll order a new set.

Just returned from a 2,700-mile trip to the Grand Canyon (north and south), Bryce, Zion and more. A ton of grime (both inside and out) to wash off, so gave it a thorough cleaning with plans to wax it tomorrow. Of the 10 RV parks we stayed at, all but one had dirt or gravel sites and many had dusty dirt roads. Tip: Check and clean your AC filter — mine was really dirty. BTW, DW just tallied up the diesel bill — over $1,100. Ouch!

A good trip! We did Bryce, Zion and Moab etc last September, took our time and spent 4 weeks. Even then diesel was a little over $4 a gallon. Our miles were about about 4700 round trip. Lots of gravel roads, but had a great time. Our mileage with a 2019 Ram Cummins pulling a 2022 Jayco 28.5 was around 11 to 13 MPG, less in the mountains. Started and finished in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Repacked wheel bearings on 2021 eagle 319 MLOK. One wheel had signs of grease getting by seal. I have never used the EZ Lube feature on any of my trailers.

I averaged about 12 or just a bit under. I swear everywhere we went was uphill, even the route back home!

Our 2017 had a seal surface on the axel that was not smooth, grease got by all the seals and ruined the brakes. When replacing everything, we used super fine emery paper on the seal contact surface until smooth.

From my readings, most people would recommend hand packing the bearings and never force grease in via the EZ lube.

Back from first trip and went through the annual fix list (or just maint):

- shower head holder bracket been falling out each trip. Drilled holes bigger and put in toggle bolts
- greased up doors and drawers squeaking
- changed oil in genny
- installed digital thermostat; old one's room temp was off by 10+ degrees
- installed new led H13 headlights
- trying to loosen Hellwig bolts to adjust
- fixed battery voltage monitor - loose ground causing it to turn off

Today, Day 2 of the post-trip cleanup. Waxed it with Meguiar’s RV cleaner/wax, which should get me through the summer. Time for an adult beverage!

Looks great! I think the metal sided trailers are much easier to keep shined than the cheap gelcoat they use on the fiberglass models!

Thank you Al! I agree. The gel coat on our sailboat definitely doesn’t fare quite as well. Our Jayco is going on five years old and waxing at least each spring seems to keep it looking good.

I replaced my 2 6 volt batteries with this one 300ah lithium battery.

It’s the size of three 6 or 12 volt batteries set side by side, but lighter than one.
I then hooked up my new inverter and ran a couple tests with it.

I hooked up my charger to my old 6 volt batteries and charged them up using the inverter, new lithium battery and my 400 watts of solar. The inverter and solar had no problem charging the old batteries while running the tv, furnace, lights, and fridge on electric mode. I even fired up the a/c to see if the inverter would run it, and it had no trouble. It wasn’t warm enough to run the a/c for longer than the short bit I did. I’m sure running it would drain my battery quickly. I rarely had full sun on my solar panels, but they kept the new battery charged while playing with the new inverter.

The battery most likely will be moved to the storage compartment since it’s to big to fit where the two old batteries sat. Plus it’s expensive, so I don’t want someone else to help themselves to it. The power inverter it just sitting there until I decide where it’s going. I would like to hard wire it to the trailer. I would like to run some wire back to the breaker panel. It would be nice to hard wire it instead of plugging into it. Now to figure the rest out.

What Did You Do To Your RV TODAY?

I agree, the spec for a 3000w inverter is for 0000. Once you get ready for the actual install You can source that big wire from a welding shop, even some Audio installers and of course the internet. Then a fuse the match the wire as close to the batteries as possible, I used a 500amp for the 0000.
Just recently installed the same inverter. I was surprised how big of wire is needed for its peak, needs to handle 490 watts. I was surprised how warm some of the connections were during my draw down tests. Renogy does not do a good job of explaining the requirements on their website or in the included paperwork, but you can get installation kits from GoPower.
