I unroled the awning to try tightening the spring but it was a lost cause. Something is broken inside. ???
I'm looking to put a manual crank on it anyway.
I also washed the awning and the RV.
Put the folding chair under the awning and camped in the street for a bit.
The veiw was nothing great but in my mind it wasnt great ether.

This is a bit off-topic as my Jayco has been winterized and at the storage lot for about a month now.
But, if the wind is calm and you really concentrate while outside, you can hear a far-off wimpering...my Jayco is lonely!!

I finally got around to taking a picture of the camera & mount.



I made the mount from a section of 1-1/2" Aluminum angle. I cut the top longer and folded it to form a shield on each side of the camers.

Today, I replaced the small light on the road-side with a large round flood light.



I bought two of theses a couple years ago for another project and didn't use them. I found them while looking for something else and decided to use them on the Toy Hauler. If someone needs one, I've got it listed the Classifieds section.

I didn't exactly work on my TT today, but spent the day doing maintenance on my Honda EU2000i generator. Here's a rundown of what I did to my little red powerhouse.

1. Removed and cleaned the carbeurator. This included removing the bowl to make sure it was clean ( it was spotless), and removing the main jet to make sure all the passages were unobstructed. Again, it was perfectly clean.

2. De-carboned the combustion chamber. I originally thought that this job would entail removing the cylinder head and scraping the carbon buildup off. But after searching for how-tos on the internet I discovered it was easy. Just removed the spark plug, squirted a tablespoon or so of Seafoam into the cylinder, and gently pulled the start cord a couple of times to distribute the Seafoam. I put the spark plug back in, then took an hour long bike ride to give time for the Seafoam to break the carbon down. Then I started it up and let it run on high speed for a few minutes to blow out the carbon and Seafoam.

3. After that, I replaced the old spark plug with a new one, gapped to .025 inches.

4. Changed the oil. I'll change the oil again in a couple of days to get any more of the carbon out that the Seafoam loosened up. I'm going to start using full synthetic oil from now on.

5. Cleaned the spark arrestor. This is where I had a problem. One of the bolt heads stripped and I coudn't get it off, so I ended up drilling off the head and replacing the bolt.

It's been running now for an hour or so, purring like a kitten. I planned to check the valve clearances, but didn't have the time, ambition or energy. And since it's running so well I'll probably not worry about it for a while.

I'm also teetering on the edge of replacing the two marine batteries on my Jayco with a pair of Trojan T-105 6VDC golf cart batteries. The marine batteries seem to be working ok, but it would be nice to have the ability to store more power. When I do change out the batteries I will also upgrade the wiring going to the power center to a larger size, probably 0-gauge multistrand welding cable.

Today, Mindi and I gazed out the window at our 5er, longing for Spring and a great CG. I could almost smell the steaks sizzling on the grille, and Mindi could almost taste the scraps she would get, and see the other dogs she could bark at. Then it became sorta like the green grass of home turning into the four grey walls of limited mobility on crutches, waiting for my hip to heal. Spring may be a long ways down the road, but it IS COMING . . . . I just know it . . . . . . . .

I arrived back at my home base late yesterday afternoon after 8 days visiting relatives and friends before Christmas. What did I do to my Jayco after getting back? Hooked my water hose back up with the pressure regulator and turned the water on, then turned the furnace back up and moved back in.

It was good to get back "home". 1,600 miles in 8 days.

Today I actually worked on my Jayco. A while back I discovered that the main wire supplying all the DC power to the trailer was really small, only 10 gauge. Today I removed that little wire and replaced it with #2 welding cable. That should really help those electrons travel from the power converter when it's charging the battery, and from the battery when it's powering the TT.

I'm glad I went with #2 instead of 2-0 cable. I could barely squeeze the #2 cable through.

Todays project, I installed a pair of lug-ended cables to my 12v marine battery pos and neg posts, then bought a high output charger to attach to them. The battery charging circuit built into the Progressive Dynamics converter in my TT only puts out a few amps, and it take many hours just to get the batteries to 90% charge. My new charger gives you the option of starting out at 40, 20, or 2 amps. And it's a smart charger, so it gradually drops down the amperage as the battery charges. I hooked it up today, and the pair of batteries were fully charged in about 3 hours. My TT converter rarely gave my batteries a full charge.

I might find that I don't need the new T-105 batteries after all.

Tomorrow, I plan to crawl under the TT one more time and clean up the DC ground connections to the frame. They may be making good contact, but I want to be sure.

Today, checked the ground to frame connections, and bought and installed a pair of new Trojan T-105 batteries. I am very tired right now.

My left side kitchen sink has been slow to drain from day one, but it had finally become almost totally plugged. Soooooo, I just put a shallow throw away aluminum lasagna type pan under the sink plumbing and removed everything. I found the plug in the crossover pipe from the left to ride side sink. A quick shot outside with the garden hose and it wall all cleaned out. It all went back together in a snap.

I'm not sure what the plug started out to be, but I suspect some type of crud from manufacture that ended up in the sink. I should have cleaned this out two years ago, but we all know how that goes.

I removed old calck from a bunch of seams and corners using my rotery tool and a small wire brush.
Then re calked using some high speed silicone ( high speed as in good not fast )

All I did today was pull my TT from the La Posa South LTVA south of Quartzsite down to the Imperial Dam LTVA near Yuma. Got it all set up, went for a bicycle ride, and now eating some Top Ramen (with a bunch of added herbs and spices) for my dinner.
