Last year I installed a bed lift.
Not a normal bed lift, they require the bed and pedestal to be either both stationary or both move.
Well, on mine the bed moved but the pedestal did not. That meant no purchasable kits would work. So I engineered my own with sliding angle iron.

This year I went went back and corrected a slight miscalculation and got it working right.

Double checked space heater (working), inspected for mouse droppings (none) prepped shore power cable to eventually get 30 amp service to tt instead of 20 amp.

Same here with my 11 year old rig. When the time comes to coat my roof, it'll be a DIY job.

Hopefully Fixed leak

Hopefully fixed the leak in our driver side slide out... heavy rain ... water comes in to the slide. Think I found where it's coming in and sealed it... hope that's it.

Took mine in for the infamous slide wall crack this morning. They did the relief cut and trim piece over it. Pick it up tomorrow morning after the new decal and other stuff is dried. Quickest turn around I’ve ever had at an rv dealer. Hopefully it’ll hold for a while. My crack was pretty small.

2018 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS. In the last couple of days I modified the access to the low point drains, the water pump and the "fill from jerry jug" valves. The access is in the basement on the dining table side. The stock access panel is small and obscures the pump and valves. I took the entire wall panel off and exposed the innards. (note: Quality depends on pride of workmanship. If this is a sample of pride of workmanship, then Jayco doesn't care about quality.) I increase the size of the access, added a hinged door and reassembled the basement.

I finished coating my roof today. it's been a long week for this 80 year old but I scrubbed the entire roof with a diluted solution of Simple Green, then put a coat of EPDM primer, then 2 coats of EPDM topcoat.

Hopefully this will last a few more years. I saw no evidence of leaks. I scrubbed the Eternabond with a scotch pad before priming. We are headed out Monday for our first trip of 2023.

That looks good. And at 80….. sounds daunting at 48. Well done.

My Thetford 2-piece toilet has been giving me fits for the last three years! Whenever I'd turn the water back on (after shutting it off for travel or to clean the black tank with a hand-held wand), the water to the toilet would continue to run for several minutes. I'd have to flush it then kick the foot-flush lever several times before it would finally shut off. And I'd have to regrease the flush ball gasket every two weeks to keep water in the bowl. About a month ago, I replaced that gasket. Since then, there's been a "click" or "thud" whenever I'd flush the toilet. It sounded (and felt) like the foot pedal or the spring inside it was about to break!

I finally broke down and went on Amazon to buy a new toilet. Fortunately, I discovered you can buy just the bottom half of the toilet for just over half the price of the whole toilet. And that's where the "working components" are located! It came in a couple of days ago, so yesterday I tackled the replacement. Now, the toilet works great! Water shuts off when the flush valve closes and no more "thud"!

After that, I drained the water heater; filled it with white vinegar & water; let it set for a couple of hours; then drained, flushed, and refilled it. A ton of calcium came out! Now (without the layer of calcium insulating the heat coil), the water should get hotter and stay at an even temperature for an entire shower. Both my summer and winter campgrounds have a lot of calcium in the water, so I do this once a year. Judging by the amount of lime I've removed the last couple of times I've done this, I think I'll need to start doing it every 6 months.

From all the getting up & down and standing around while the water heater drained, every muscle in this 70+ year old body was aching. But I slept like a baby! Next project will be replacing the oven/cook-top combo . . . but that will have to wait until summer.

Finally starting to work on the shocks. Got the front shocks replaced on the Seneca.
It was a little more time consuming that I thought.
BTW, when I had the wheels off I polished them to make them look better than new.

I posted a video of it to my youtube channel:
https://youtu.be/0gLsxbktb1g

Next week will be the rear shocks.

Hooked up my power pack (jump starter) to the battery cables, opened the awning, all the windows, checked mouse traps etc. All is well!

Finally a couple of decent days on the weekend. Spent Saturday splitting wood so decided today was a good day to hitch up and go for a little spin to check things out after sitting for ~3 months. First tow with new tires on the TV - they did great.

Took on 62 gallons of fresh water, loaded up the fridge, aired up the tires, packed clothes and cleaned the windows. Leaving in the morning for Quartzsite. The Quartzsite RC club is having their annual Fun Fly. The weather is predicted to be almost perfect.

Koni shocks and rear trac bar

I replaced the original shocks with KONI shocks all 4 corners, and added a Super Steer rear track bar, checked the weight on all 4 corners and had a front alignment done.

I installed a Safety Plus steering stabilizer a year ago, so hopefully these improvements my ride will be much better

Ordered my new tires today. I was toying with moving up to 15" but stayed with the 14" tires. Just went with the 215/75 R14 instead of 205/75 R14. Trailer comes out of storage in less than 6 weeks... Not sure if time will drag or fly!

Did a quick check of the rig after a rare 6” overnight snowfall. We get snow about once every 5 years but these days all bets are off. It’s now melting off nicely. Glad I have it covered. I have new appreciation for those of you where this is routine.
