We've had close to a record breaking 34cm of snow in the past 36 hours and they are calling for freezing rain in the next day so I got a ladder out and swept the roof off! Hate to have a collapsed roof or something silly.

I made a failed attempt to repair the step motor on our coach. My impatience got the best of me and I exited the camper before they were fully deployed. Looks like a new motor is in my future. Lesson learned...

Hooked up my water hose long enough to top off the fresh water tank. It is going to be well below freezing for the next several nights, but at least the day time temps will be above freezing so fresh water won't be a problem.

Brought it home from storage, got the fridge cooled down and making ice, bled the air out of the propane lines, brought out some of the things in the "to go in the camper" pile. Getting ready for the next adventure. It promises to be WET and COLD, but I don't care, I've got a good book and a stack of DVDs and plenty of naps to catch up on!

ABSOLUTELY! Even it all you did was look at it, it counts.

Post a picture when you have a chance. I know that's tough to do with the current weather, though.

Welcome to JOF!

I can afford the propane, but it will be a challenge to see if I can not use it much. I need a challenge.
My fireplace heater and one ceramic heater was all we needed down to 20 degrees. So you might not need gas at all.

Well, then in that case, I walked by mine this morning to climb in my truck and come to work!

Made another batch of ice last night; getting ready for a soggy weekend at the coast. Bringing along a fist full of DVDs and a good book, planning to get some much needed nap time in!

My concern Texashighsheriff isn't the amount of electric heat to stay warm, but without the furnace running at least some there isn't any heat getting to my tanks/plumbing, etc. The electric fireplace plus one electric oil filled radiator keeps the entire back of the 5'er nice and toasty and I only really run the fireplace early in the morning to knock the chill off. The oil filled radiator has a more accurate thermostat so I use it during the day when above freezing.

At night I turn the main thermostat to 60 and turn off the electric heat. I want the furnace to come on some during the night which is doesn't do much, but just enough. Right now it is 13 degrees outside and I had rather burn a little propane vs have something freeze and break. At night in the bedroom I have a ceramic cube heater that works well with the hall and bath to hall doors closed and the heat up there doesn't effect the furnace thermostat setting.

Maybe I'm being a little over cautious, but I full time and this is my home. I don't want it out of service because I wouldn't burn a little propane at night.

Added Chromecast to the living room TV. Now it's part of my private network.

I'm curious how this works out for you. My understanding is that they don't stream from the device you play from. So if I have a movie on my tablet downloaded for offline mode, I can't cast it to a chromecast and play it because it'll attempt to pull the file from google play online. Are you some place where you have a good stable connection or am I missing a way to make things work?

Went out back and checked inside of trailer for the first time since winterizing. Everything looked good. Put trailer battery, which was pulled after last trip, on the battery tender.

Set up a dehumidifier in it to take some of that tropical moisture out of it. We finally got the humidity down after 3 days of running it. Set it up to drain directly into the sink. We have to run it full time to get it under 40%...

As long as you can play it in Chrome, you can cast it. I tried it with an MP4 file and it worked fine. It would work with any player that supports Cast.

I had issues, jerky playback, initially trying to cast something via Chrome, like a local file or some video playing in Chrome that you can't "cast" like netflix or hulu but it turned out that it was just a wireless strength issue with the Chromecast device being installed in the back of the TV in the cabinet. So I used a longer extension and mounted the Chromecast device so it was outside of the cabinet. Plays fine now.

Towed her home from a cold and wet weekend at the coast, emptied her out, winterized her, brought her back to storage. Already planning the next trip!
