Went to the storage place to check on it. Found a nail in the left side rear tire. Must have been a real slow leak because it still wasn't totally flat after 5 months of storage. I used my portable compressor to pump it up but I have to wait to get it out and fix it, there are still too many trailers packed into she storage building.

Getting things ready for that long trip back to Michigan for the summer. Yesterday, I re-torqued all the lug nuts and checked the tire pressures on both the trailer and the TV. Dumped 1/2 bottle of bleach into the FW tanks, then filled them with water. Let it set overnight to disinfect. This morning, I'm in the process of flushing it through the water lines and into the grey tanks. Am speeding up the process by also dumping the tanks/lines through the low point drains. Once the FW tanks are empty, I'll flush the entire FW system several times before refilling the FW tanks about 1/3 full - so I have some "travel water". Am also about to do the last couple loads of laundry, before heading out on Monday.

I'm going to take a couple of weeks to make my way back to Michigan. Want to stop a couple of places to visit family. Also want to stop in S. Dakota to cross the Badlands, Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, and Little Bighorn Memorial off my bucket list. While there, I'll get my residency/domicile, drivers' license, truck & trailer registrations & insurance switched over to SD. Still hope to land a couple of Michigan State Park Campground Host positions for the summer. There are still a few month-long spots left. We'll see how that goes.

To all my fellow "Summer Texans", "Snow Birds", and "summer camping" JOF brothers & sisters: Safe travels and happy camping!

Washed the outside with the trusty telescoping RV brush. Airing out the awning.

Built a slightly heavy but inexpensive "trailer tire aid" out of the old 2x8's I used to level the 5er with before I got my Andersen Levellers. Hoping three 2x8's will give me the lift I need but if not, I have a 4th one I can anchor to the others and use.

Pulled it to Key Largo, but didn't quite make it. Heavy traffic and bad weather. Pulled into a KOA in St Augustine after 13 hours of driving and sitting. Didn't have enough in my tank to finish today. But I'm still sleeping in It tonight.

I completely unloaded my basement, vacuumed it out and them put the stuff back in slightly rearranged. There were a few items I hadn't used ever and they are now in my storage garage. If you don't use something leave it.

Roof rebuild ongoing. Just heading out to complete the ceiling side today, should get all the pieces in place then glue it all down. I've been working on my 2003 Jayco Kiwi 23b since the fall when I noticed the roof was leaking. Upon removal of the A/C unit, it was apparent the job was going to be big, the entire roof was removed from the unit, placed on the floor and stripped to the frame. See my post - Major Kiwi 23b Repairs - for more in depth details, pics and blue print.

http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f7...s-21848-3.html

If you're patient and sort of handy, this would be a task you could handle.
