I have fond memories of Mt. Shasta. Our family took a vacation with out cousins up to Copco Lake and caught a mess of trout. Played with a black lab we named boomer. He went crazy when we pulled out the shot guns and would fetch rocks we threw in the lake from the bottom. It is a beautiful area. Have fun and post some pictures for us please.

We both can smell that mountain air and Tunce loves the place. This may not be that lake but the fishing is good and Tunce loves that cold water in the spring.

I installed the 5 star tune in my Class C. I took it for a short spin and I do like the new shifting pattern.
Being a flatlander there aren't any serious hills to test it on, but next week we'll be in the Smokey Mountains. In anxious to see how it does.

The screws of the Fresh water tank stripped and the tank was laying on the underbelly.
This related to the poor workmanship during manufacturing. So will lay the tank on 2x4 fir with 3/8 plywood on top. The heating duct in the underbelly was all rusted and flat. No wonder there was no heat from the front vent.
The storage door seal has been leaking and did do some damage to the floor (The luan ply doesn't comply with water) so have to fix that with 3/8 ply under the floor.
The wheel wells not sealed at all so water can sit on the underbelly and that's why the heating duct rusted. On the front the underbelly was not sealed either from the factory so every time it rained water would enter the underbelly and drained through a hole in the center. And the list goes on. Remember that's what we are buying.
Strapped all the wiring to the underfloor. Once the FW tank is installed I can finish insulating forward of the front axles. Most problems I encountered should not happen if they have done things right in the first place.
The brochure says 5/8 flooring, yeah right; 1/2" on top and 1/8" on the bottom with Styrofoam sandwiched in between. They are not lying but well misleading.
Brochure says 15" wheels but the 2005 came with 14" chrome wheels from the factory (this out the horse his mouth).
The Ultra Frame with the huck bolts system is in good shape it could use a few more cross members but will install them myself. Don't want the underbelly coming off and leave a trail of insulation.
The stabilizer jacks will be fasten with stainless steel 8mm bolts, instead of #12 self tapping screws.
So tomorrow there's another day.

Thanks Sebring96hbg,

That looks like it should do the trick. Costs more than the grease gun, but if it works, what the hell.

Today is the day I am going to finally clean my slide rails. They are pretty sad looking and dirty. A liberal application of Gunk, wait a while, and hose off. If that doesn't do it I will do it again. Then when dry a good lubrication with bicycle chain lube that I have been using for years.

I hate this job, but it does need to be done.

Today we went shopping and purchased new faucets for the TT. Wife did not like the small bathroom one that you could barely get your hands under to wash them. Kitchen one, you had to open the cold side all the way to get any kind of flow out of it. So we hit up Home Depot and got new ones. White ones - Jayco originals. Chrome ones - Home Depot.

I want to do the same, put single handle ones, easier for the kids. Can you put pretty much use any 4inch/bathroom and 8inch/kitchen? I'm sure the wife is s happy now, looks great!

Brand new member here. My hubby also joined the site. We started our day by driving about an hour or so north of here to go to a RV dealership where we had heard they were holding a big garage sale clearance of RV accessories, etc. Didn't really expect to find too much of what we were looking for but we were pleasantly surprised! We found the awning that we needed to replace the original one on our Jayco Qwest (2003), for only $40.00 including the tube! It's about a foot longer than we needed but will cut it down. Can't complain about the work for that price! The retail price marked on the box is $899.95 CDN. Also got a stinking good deal on a new kitchen faucet with sprayer. It's 8" high, cast so NOT plastic. Came with all the pipes and tubes needed, just like new, but probably an older stock style to be clearing out like that. Regular retail on the box says $298.99 and we paid $20.00. So we have more projects than ever for our trailer. I'm sure my hubby will be on here (we both registered on the site) and I'm sure he will update with pics of his hard work!

New LED's

Installed all new LED bulbs in the new Redhawk. Unit is so much brighter with much reduced draw. Also fashioned new sink cover from a poly cutting board I acquired from Walmart for $11. Cut it to size with my skill saw and a masonry blade. Polished and finished the edges with an orbital sander. Oh, and I also installed a lock on my bumper mounted spare.

Thoroughly scrubbed out the inside after a dusty week in the southwest. Then scrubbed and inspected the roof and washed the outside. Noticed that one of the tank vent caps on the roof did not have a screw holding it in place so scrounged one up. Not sure how it's hung on while rolling down the interstate. I wish I'd been able to get a fresh coat of wax on the front before the last trip - took a bit of effort to get all the bugs off this time....

Re-torqued the wheel lug nuts, adjusted the tire air pressure.

Then, I hooked it up to the truck and pulled it east -- over the Cascades, across the Columbia River, into the town of Moses Lake (where I found a Chinese Buffet and pigged out), and I'm now set for the night at Schrag Safety Rest Area, about 20 miles west of Ritzville, WA on I-90.

Not sure where I'm going tomorrow, other than NOT west. I'll be going either north, south or east. I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow.

Replaced the seal around our front bunk end of our 23b with material found on Amazon, thanks to some fine people on here saved me a lot of money. Bought the stuff for around 1.00 ft. Jayco wants over 3 bucks a ft.

Continued driving west on I-90 for a few miles, headed north at mile marker 206, on WA-21, then West on WA-28 to Soap Lake, WA. Then onto WA-17 north to Coulee City. Found a WDF place to camp free for 3 days- the Banks Lake Fish Camp, right on the lake, west end of the Dry Falls Dam. Great cell phone reception here, and expansive views. I'll be attempting to climb to the top of the bluff behind me while I'm here. Looks to be around 1000' elevation gain, and pretty steep. Should be fun. Might be able to see the entirety of the lake from way up there.

Glued the center foil cones to my outdoor speakers (they apparently detached over the winter), and hard-wired my after-market LED under-awning lights into the 12v DC at the fridge panel. Also replaced the mech thermostat with a $15 digital from Amazon. Can't wait to get out this year!! (our second season with the hybrid)
