We picked up our Eagle from the factory repair facility. They fixed the stress crack we had near the bed slide and did some other repairs. The repair looks good and they did what they said they would do. We are pleased.

Taking mine to its storage lot this afternoon for the first time.

Thankfully it's only about 10 minutes from my house. Next major project is to make my back yard an option for storage.

Finished installing the Blue Ox Sway Pro last night in storage. Towing the "empty" trailer home from storage (short drive) showed VERY promising results. Definitely an improvement over the previous hitch.

That's great.

Replaced all compartment locks and swapped out bathroom entrance door lock so all locks on trailer are keyed alike.

Couldn't stand having 3 keys. Having a different key for bathroom and main entry door really drove me crazy.

My son was home sick from school yesterday, so I took the opportunity to do a little work in the trailer. With my son's "assistance" (he's almost 2, so I'm not sure "assistance" is the right word) I sealed the warm air return side of the AC from the cold air output with foil tape. I also examined the vents to see if they were leaking into the "attic" and what I could do to them to improve performance. Found some issues there, but I don't know how I will fix them yet... My son helped me retrieve a dropped screw while I was holding one of the vents against the ceiling, so he was of at least a little "assistance". LOL!

Installed a new paper towel bar under the cabinet in the kitchen. Used some double sided tape to mock up basement door latches so I don't go drilling unnecessary holes in the outside of my 5er. As well as measured out some wire closet shelving to add more storage to the bathroom. Used a hacksaw and decided the rest of that project could wait until I borrow a set of bolt cutters from my father, lol!

Last night I sealed off 2 of my 4 AC vents by removing the "sleeve" that connects the ceiling vent to the AC duct and sealed the gap with foil tape. So far a worthwhile endeavor; flow is already better. And I made another batch of ice.

Tonight the real work ensues. Gotta go grocery shopping, fill FW tank, top off tire air pressure, pack my stuff, pack the food/sundries, and hook up the truck to the trailer for a faster getaway! I'm sure there are more chores that will need doing ... It's going to be a late night tonight ...

Just curious. How long to get an appointment and how long did they have it?

If you're asking about the Jayco Factory we discovered the crack in early April and the first available appointment was Aug. 8. They had it two weeks.

I spent the last couple of days doing some badly needed "Fall Cleaning"! I cleaned the roof, got the mold and mildew off the awning (50-50 bleach/water solution with the help of magic eraser for stubborn stains), and washed and "waxed" with Turtle Wax Zip wash. I was very happy with zip wax and the finish looks great. Saved me a step of actually waxing it, considering our triple digit heat index, I'm very pleased.

Next day I concentrated on the inside, washing down the wood work, sweeping and cleaning the floor, washing the windows in and out, and vacuumed and spot cleaned the upholstery. Also painted some rust area on the bumper with rustoleum. Man was I pooped when it was done. Phew, I'm "tarred" (that's tired for you northerners). But man it does look good!

I have been looking at possibly trading in our X23B, but now, I just may keep her!

Nothing glamorous. Installed a Marinco 701 battery disconnect switch. https://www.amazon.com/Marinco-701-B.../dp/B005DUUL9W

I've got to say, it's a nice enhancement. Beats opening the battery box and disconnecting cables every time we store the trailer. Just flip the switch and walk away.

IMO, these are the types of things that RV manufacturers should include, even on fairly basic models. I've installed BAL lock-arm stabilizers, added vent covers and a decent bathroom fan, installed a digital thermostat, put gel filters in all of our LED lights to warm them up, installed towel rods and rings in the bathroom, put a dimmer switch on our bedroom reading lights so DW and I aren't blinded at night, and I'm about to install a water pump silencing kit. I'd have happily paid $400-$500 more on a $25K trailer not to have to do these types of things. They seem to try and cut corners where it simply isn't necessary.

Getting the trailer ready for our 2nd trip in it next weekend...cut up some 2x's to use as levelers under the tires and pads for under the jacks, made a storage box for them that can be flipped and double as a step under the entry stairs, cut up a 4x and started making a set of X chocks, and ordered a dish strainer to dry those dishes after being washed. It's been a productive morning! Lol

Re-reading it, that totally reminds me of the Red Ryder BB gun scene in 'A Christmas Story'

I can hardly say it once lol.

Trying some Gorilla Construction Adhesive to reattach loose wood molding and trim pieces--hopefully it will hold through the summer heat while in storage.

Yesterday, towed it home after our trip. Where we were was on a "boil water" notice, and we didn't have QUITE enough water on board to make it through the weekend. We always pack drinking water separate (we refill a 5 gal jug with RO water), and we always haul about 35 gallons in the tank for "incidentals". So we had to connect up to city water for showers and toilets. Lesson learned: bring more water in the tanks for JUST this type of situation.

So added to the chore list was to sanitize the lines. Probably not strictly necessary, but better safe than sorry. So we did that last night and began cleaning out the trailer. We still have quite a lot of cleaning to do. And still have some AC work, and washing the outside to do this week before we put her back in storage.
