I'm partial to a good KY bourbon. I preface that statement with the fact that I have worked in the industry for many years.

Some of my favorites are Evan Williams Single Barrel, Knob Creek and Makers Mark. I like bourbon that is six to nine years old. To me it's best at that age. Booker Noe, Jim Beam's grandson always said he liked his bourbon between 8 and 9 years old and I agree that it's at its best at that age. I like bourbon with ice and a bit of water. I can't think of anything better than sitting in front of a fire with good friends and a good bourbon. That's heaven!

Freddie Noe, Jim Beam's great grandson said 2 things about drinking bourbon that I always remember:
1 "if you make a face when you drink it, it's too strong, add some water".
2 " we don't care what you drink it with just as long as you drink it".

Contrary to some people's opinion it's ok to mix a good bourbon bourbon with Coke or whatever you prefer.

I'm not much on Scotch. I've tried several and to me it tastes like grain alcohol with band aids and burnt wood mixed in it. YUCK!
