Who do you use for RV insurance?

Who do you use for RV insurance?

We started with State Farm years ago as we had with our other vehicles for years but after shopping around found Progressive to be almost half the price.
We have had a few claims over the years and couldn't be happier.

P.S. Sorry if I missed adding yours to the poll. There are many to consider these days. And the maximum for a poll is 10.

I use progressive for now, but just got a quote from Good Sam that was half the price, might be changing soon, even though I just paid for a whole year at progressive up front (small hassle)

Just read the OP, funny that you got half price going to Progressive and I'm getting half price by leaving them

500/yr progressive
240/yr Good Sam (coverages aren't identical, but good enough for me)

Just curious what type of insurance is being referred to here? Normally a trailer is covered while traveling by the TV insurance. I have insurance that covers things like a tree falling on the trailer and things like that. But I do not have any kind of extended warranty insurance.

Regarding cost of different insurers...it seems they all play the same game anymore. Give you a low entry price and slowly raise the rates over time and hope you don't pick up on it. Same with cable/satellite companies. What they should do is lower your rates for being a good long term customer, but that does not happen any more.
I just get quotes every couple of years if the quote is low enough, I switch.

I had USAA and always thought they were the best and had the best prices....until I shopped around. Geico saved me about 1/3 the price by switching (RV, TV and wife's car). USAA still cheapest for us with regards to homeowners, so no switching there.

If you finance your trailer, the lein holder will require an insurance policy for the trailer. (nothing to do with your warranty) My trailer is not specifically covered at all by my progressive policy for my TV (other than for strict liability issues).. i.e. I run someone over... etc.. I had to get a separate RV policy before they could print my temp tags and send me home. Assuming it's the same in most (all?) states. If you live in a state that requires full coverage on a car you are financing, you'll need a policy for the camper too. It protects the lien-holder (and you as a bonus). Thankfully these policys are pretty cheap.. I've been quoted as low as 20 bucks a month.

Just got a quote from Hartford through AARP. $20,000 on trailer, 200 deductible for $158. Contents are covered under our homeowner policy. $30,000 was about $85.00 more. Goes by current value not new cost. FYI

Just switched tonite from Farmer's to Good Sam, about a 60% reduction in rates. Hope we don't need to see how good it is.

Switched from Progressive to a Nationwide company found through Good Sam club. A little over 50% savings with better coverage.
