Bud Light is my usual but I have to splurge now and then and buy a German wheat beer. I was stationed in Germany before I turned 21 and really got the taste for wheat beers.

Sounds intriguing. Is it a personal recipe or a kit from somewhere?

For me the very best beer is when it's FREE. FREE beer is always good even if it isn't. When I have to pay which is usually the rule I buy Henry Weinharts Private Reserve.

Oh yes! I forgot about Henry's Private Reserve - most excellent - to me.

First trip out with the new rig over the fourth. Beer of choice was Labatt Blue Light Lime. Best blend of the lime beers, IMO. Nice on a hot summer evening.

Homebrew, Schlafly Barleywine, New Holland Dragon's Milk, just about any IPA, or Pabst (which was once brewed locally to where I currently live). If I get to stop at a store before I reach the camp ground I try to by a local brew, but that doesn't always work. I can't wait until I go to Michigan in August there are several micro brewery's there I want to try.

It is a porter recipe that I have been doing for a while but I had heard about putting bacon in the secondary to sort of dry hop or (dry hog) to infuse the smokey bacon flavor. It turned out great but next time I think I will add even more bacon.

pcbrewer, That sounds good never thought of putting bacon in beer I used to brew a lot but havent for about the last 6 years just might have to start again and add bacon. I did a wild rice pale ale and a good amber ale those were my go to brews.

Sorry, no Miller, no Bud, no Coors here. No light beer either. To me light beer is like eating low fat cake. What's the point?
Guinness and New Castle Brown Ale are favorites. Guinness is a food group. My favorite amber is a craft from Milwaukee Brewing Co. called Louie's Demise. Someone mentioned Alaskan Amber, that's a good one too. There are others of course. The lightest beer I drink is Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy.

Old Blue, I agree with you on the amber ale that is my go to beer that I brew the most. I used to like really hoppy beer but now I like smother more malty ones...cheers!

Wow, I'm getting a lot of drinking ideas here. I just finished my last 2 RollingRocks. I'll buy something interesting tomorrow on the way home from work.
Guiness Extra Stout sounds tempting. Been a while.

I agree about the Guinness and New Castle. I like Miller and PBRs as "combat beers" Light enough to quench your thirst on a sunny morning.
Contrary to perception Utah has some fine microbrews. Uinta and Wasatch have some great ones and I prefer to drink local as well. There is Epic brewery that makes high alcohol content beers and their State Street Stout at 7.5% is good enough to rival Guinness.
