Would like to know

If extra virgin olive oil will go bad. Never opened the bottle, never in sunlight, but don't remember when we got it as a present. Wife and I are thinking at least 6 years old. maybe longer. Thanx Ernie

I would think it could get nasty if too long on the shelf. For the price of a new bottle....throw it away!

Give it the Nasal Appraisal, if it smells alright, use it. It works with laundry!

The life span of olive oil depends a lot on the kind of olive oil, how it is packaged and how it is stored. Under the right conditions, the best olive oil can last over a year if unopened. The poorer grades may go in as little as a month or two. Once opened it goes downhill in a hurry.

Btw, refrigeration doesn't work (don't ask how I know).
