Great tool. Just too concerned about weight in the trailer to haul around a dutch oven and accessories.

Go with this one then. Lightweight and I would recommend the Lodge liners for this as Aluminum does not season as well as cast.

Nice tool, but I am optioned out and sticking with my current tools. One thing I see as a hazzard is the rubber handle under the pot. Coals can get really hot and I see it melting that red handle if you leave a lid with coals under it for a while.

As mentioned above, check out aluminum. It saves A LOT of weight.
I got rid of the weight problem when I traded in my GMC 1500 on my RAM 2500. Plenty of capacity all around now, so I started asking for cast iron tools and accessories for gifts and such. I only have a small dutch oven, and a couple pie irons so far, but I'm building my skills and tools.
I used cast iron, especially dutch ovens, A LOT as a boy scout, but that's been a LONG time ago. I'm looking forward to trying to re-create some of my favorite recipes from back then. Many fond memories were created around hot coals and black iron.

I do less and less cooking when I am camping out. I have been cooking ahead of time, vacuum sealing, and then freezing. I can eat gourmet meals without all the time, hassle, and dishes associated with the process.
I still break out the Dutch Oven on occassion when at Faire. I have this tripod setup and it weighs a ton. So far, I have managed to talk others into hauling it for me!!!LOL

Looks like a neat toll for the DO folks. I have two LODGE DO`s, a 10 and a 12 that I carry along. Use them quite often.

Aluminum just doesn't cook the same as cast iron. Jmho.

That is neat. We love our cast iron. Carry 6 skillets (3" to 16"), 2 DO (10 & 12), and a double burner griddle. Have been using some of them from tenting days.

Last Saturday was cool around here. 5 hours cooking bean soup over the campfire with the Dutch Oven. Fantastic!
